Within weeks of declaring that "Glyde Solar is not out of business, not filing for bankruptcy, and not experiencing financial distress," Glyde's website now admits that "we are no longer accepting new sales opportunities. We will finish all existing projects and will do our best to assist existing customers during this transition." The sun seems to have set on Glyde Solar.

I had my system installed in Sep 2022. My installation only provides about 50% of my power needs. The assessment was overly underrated! Complete waste of money. I have contacted Glyde Solar in the past and received no responses. On the reviews, they say they would like to look into the issue, but they never follow through. A colleague of mine had an installation done by Photon Brothers. His production is 2-3 times more than mine. Choose carefully when going solar!

Guy, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We take feedback seriously, especially when a customer feels disappointed. A few important clarifications based on your actual project data: Your system was designed as a 6.57 kW system with an estimated annual production of 9,455 kWh. The design offset was 78.8%, not 100%. This means the system was never intended to cover all household consumption, which is clearly disclosed during the design and contract phase. Production estimates are based on historical utility usage, roof geometry, shading, orientation, and local irradiance data, not assumptions. Comparing your system to a colleague’s system is not an apples-to-apples comparison. System size, roof layout, usage profile, and location all materially impact production. A system producing 2–3x more power would, by definition, need to be significantly larger or installed under materially different conditions. Regarding communication: We do respond to service inquiries, but we do not see an unresolved open ticket tied to this concern. If something was missed, that is on us, and we want to correct it. Most importantly: Your system passed inspection, achieved activation, and ultimately reached PTO. If actual production is materially underperforming relative to the modeled estimate, that is something we can objectively review using inverter-level production data. We are happy to: Review your actual production versus expected output. Confirm whether any shading, usage changes, or post-install variables are impacting performance. Walk through the original design assumptions transparently. Please contact us directly at [email protected] with your project address so we can formally reopen the review and address this with facts and data, not assumptions. We stand by our designs, but we also stand by our customers when something doesn’t look right.
Salesman was extremely kind and said that our system and storage could easily power our AC unit and other things. When this was put to the test during Hurricane Beryl, that proved to be dangerously false. This misunderstanding literally put me and my family in danger. We lucked out and were only without power for a little over a week but my house ended up getting up to 90F inside. This system was very expensive and it only seems to be able to run a fridge. I am now looking into what legal options I have because clearly we were mislead and Glyde refuses to accommodate anything. I called numerous times to only get an email that essentially was summed up to: you need additionally battery storage. It took 4 months to get that response. Run. Do not just walk away from these people, run.

Bryant, we’re sorry to hear about your experience during Hurricane Beryl. After reviewing your system and service history, the equipment is operating correctly. Your setup includes a single 10 kWh battery, which is designed to back up essential circuits such as lights, outlets, and refrigeration — not central air-conditioning. A central AC requires significantly more instantaneous power than a single home battery can supply. This isn’t a malfunction but a limitation of the system’s capacity. We’ve offered to review your backed-up circuits and provide options if you’d like to expand backup capability in the future. If you’d like a technical explanation or upgrade quote, please reach out directly to [email protected] so we can help.
Our solar installation completed yesterday, July 11th, 2025 and we are extremely pleased with our experience! Earl K. from the Glyde Marketing Team did a remarkable job providing an overview of solar, including, its many benefits and answering our many questions. The Glyde Support Staff's involvement with the Engineering Layout, Interconnection Documents and Project Management were absolutely phenomenal. Thanks to Brynli, Gabrielle and Terina for assisting us through this process! Glyde also took great care in ensuring that the installation team of electricians and panel installers were very competent and professional. Thanks to Isaias, Gabriel and Isaac and Team for a job well done! I know that consumers have a choice of solar providers; however, I would not hesitate to highly recommend Glyde Solar as your solar company of choice. Kevin J. Paul Trophy Club, Texas

They’re independent contractors or employees are going around knocking on doors when there’s clearly a no soliciting sign and have no regard for it.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and I’m genuinely sorry that our team’s visit caused frustration. To clarify, our representatives are indeed independent contractors, and we strive to train them to be respectful and compliant with all neighborhood guidelines, including “No Soliciting” signs. If someone overlooked that, it’s not acceptable and we’ll address it directly with the team in your area. Please feel free to share your location with us privately so we can ensure it doesn’t happen again. Your experience matters, and we take it seriously. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
