Avoid GE Appliances (Haier)
Owned by Haier and Whirlpool (Europe). Don't buy Haier products. The warranty service is appalling. The warranty is sub-contracted to Domestic and General, which in turn sub-contract the actual servicing to Hoover Candy. Hoover Candy is owned by Whirlpool. The engineers don't know how to fix the Haier washing machines. Saying to their manager they cannot fix washing machines they haven't been trained on is not what you want to hear. Arriving without any parts when told by the people you book on the phone with that they will, is unacceptable. Waiting a week for the engineer to come only to be told he needs parts he never even brought with him is unacceptable. Waiting another week for him to try and fix it only to find he can't is unacceptable. Then waiting another week for another part to arrive, only to hen find it is the wrong part is unacceptable. Spending over 4 weeks without a washing machine is unacceptable. The cost in finding alternative ways to wash during that time ends up being as much as the washing machine itself. It has cost us a fortune to keep a family of five going without a functioning washing machine. Absolute appalling service. Avoid anything to do with Haier. There are so many bad reviews about the product. When it fails, the service to repair is appalling, making the whole experience intolerable (and more expensive).
