I’m leaving this review to warn other pet owners. Dutch’s subscription and cancellation system caused me to be charged twice for medications I could not use. When I first signed up, Dutch offered several medication options, then canceled two of my choices before finally approving the third — a $187 prescription. During that limbo my cat ran away. I immediately contacted Dutch to cancel the order. I was told it had “already been sent” and that nothing could be done. USPS and Dutch’s own website still showed it as not dispatched, yet they refused to stop it. You can't toss it in the bin and I can't use it so I finally just packed it away. My heart broke every time I saw it. Six months later, Dutch charged me another $187 for a refill I did not need and could not use. Even though they knew my cat was gone. The customer service rep hadn't canceled my subscription and in my grief I thought it was handled. Once again they stated they had “no way to cancel” an order or subscription once it entered their system, even though they had canceled previous prescriptions when it suited them. Why is that? Why does Dutch send shipment notifications after it’s too late for customers to cancel? Their policies do not align with standard pet‑care companies like Chewy or Amazon, who allow cancellation of automatic shipments. I notified Dutch months in advance that my pet was gone, they kept the subscription active anyway, resulting in two expensive shipments I cannot use. This experience felt exploitative during an already painful time.

Losing a beloved companion is heartbreaking, and we're truly sorry that any part of your experience with us added to your grief during such a painful time. We've reached out to you here to get your email address so we can look into this further and assist in refunding any order that was fulfilled after your cat passed. We want to help make this right. We'd also like to share how our subscriptions work, in case it's helpful. You're able to cancel or manage any subscription before it refills each month, either through your online account at any time or by reaching out to our care team, as long as it's before the order has been processed. You also receive an email at least 24 hours before a prescription processes as a reminder. Because of the nature of medications, once an order has been sent to our pharmacy and fulfilled, there's only a short window in which it can be canceled, which is why timing on those requests matters so much. Again, we're so sorry for your loss and for the frustration this caused. Please keep an eye out for our message so we can look into your account and help however we can.
