Cannot say enough negative things about this company. Their customer service is terrible. I have been trying to make a simple rollover after leaving my previous company and it’s taken them 3 months (and still has yet to be completed). Literally feel like I’ve lost some years off my life after how much time I’ve spent talking to customer service.

This is hands down the worst company I have the displeasure of working with. The customer service is a maze of a phone tree they they've exported overseas, so the reps don't have the language skills to understand your issues. You get forwarded to other random departments who give you the run around and never actually have the information you need to solve the problem. Corebridge used to be AIG, which should have gone bankrupt in 2008 but got bailed out and is now in the same scummy category as Wells Fargo where you can't get anything done and the whole experience feels like a scam

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I inherited an annuity which is now invested with Corebridge. There have been multiple mistakes with each of my quarterly distributions--paper check in the mail instead of direct deposit that I requested, incorrect amount of federal income tax withheld, etc. I have had to re-submit forms that I know they have received but just seem to be ignored. I've spent hours on the phone with their "customer service" people trying to get these problems corrected. They take my phone number and say that someone will call me, but that never happens. Plus their website is terrible. It's hard to believe that an organization can be this incompetent and dismissive of their customers. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS JOKE OF A COMPANY!!!!

I am now on day 51 of surrendering a life insurance policy for cash payment. This $1000 policy was purchased by my in-laws when my husband was 2 years old; the current value is $843. We agreed that it wasn't worth waiting until he was 100 to collect the full value. I contacted them online on 7/10/24 and received the required form and instructions on 7/11/24, including the comment that processing would take 7-10 business days. On 7/17/24 I submitted their form, signed by my husband, and a picture of his driver's license to confirm his identity. Later that day I received a message telling me they were "unable to access the documents" I'd sent. I sent them again. On 8/8/24 I received a packet from them in the mail. Expecting the check, imagine my surprise when it contained a form letter ("Dear Sir or Madam") telling me that the form I submitted was incomplete and enclosed a blank copy of the form to complete and resubmit. I messaged them asking for more information so I wouldn't repeat whatever mistake I'd made. I hadn't received a reply by 8/15 so I sent a follow up asking the same question. On 8/16 they replied and told me the only document they'd received was the signature page of their form. I re-sent the document. I get a message that I need to resubmit the documents because they "are unable to access them". I sent them again. Yesterday I got a message from them saying they "are unable to access the documents" and please send them again. These documents that they "are unable to access" are all in PDF format (as they specify) and are shown as successfully submitted on my message history with them. So, this is Day 51 of my 7-10 day wait.

I gave a one star only because I couldn’t type a comment without giving a star rating. Currently I would give a negative star. My wife has been trying to get her annuity transfered for almost 4 months now. For the last month when she looks online it shows a 0 balance. No one can tell her what is going on, only that they have a representative working on it and she will hear from them in 24-48 hours. She will wait 4-5 days and call them, no names of the representatives can be given as they are assigning someone to it. So nothing has been done. When we ask for a contact number and name of a supervisor we are told they cannot do that. But will have them call us…..yet we never get calls. Starting to think they have lost out money someway. We have talked to probably 10 different representatives, none have able to help. We have contacted the FINRA and SEC. Both of them have stated that they have reached out to Corebridge and they will contact us with an explanation, yet we have not heard from them. We have just contacted an attorney to handle this for us. First time we have ever done this, I really don’t believe in having attorneys involved, but I feel Corebridge will do nothing if we don’t have legal representation. They have done something with our money, have not complied with the regulations on handling our reguest for our money, and most of all they just don’t care. Four months of no answers and wondering where our money actually is. Maybe this review will help to get someone to contact us and help.

I opened a 403B and an IRA back when Valic handled my school district’s financial plans. That turned into AIG, which still seemed to be OK, fast-forward to Corebridge. What a mess. I just had a “planning meeting“ with a likable, albeit unknowledgeable young man who had no idea about what we were talking about. I had more financial insight from listening to Saturday morning radio programs than he did. He had no idea about taxes on Roth IRA‘s or conversion penalties- if any. Had no idea that the whole tax structure on annuities withdrawals was set to change in 2026 and said “I will have to look into that I had no idea” I need to pull money out of this company ASAP. It’s terrifying. He even recommended me switching my 403b to a higher yield interest rate program but when I inquired about it, he said “oh they don’t service that here”. I would have to withdraw the money pay the taxes counted as income, and then reinvest what’s left at some other bank maybe close to home. You have got to be kidding me! They should at least hire people that know more than a retired art teacher that listens to a Saturday morning tax show on a radio moving as soon as possible. I recommend staying away from this company. I just see bad things ahead.

I've been trying to cash out an insurance policy for months and months. It's been back and forth with different people telling me different things (also, lying to me--saying they would call me-- and then didn't.) Now--I called company today--recording says they are closed and to call back during normal business hours. Recording gave me the same message yesterday. Not only that--I can't access the policy online anymore--says it's not active. Note: Several weeks ago I tried to access the policy online and the whole policy had disappeared. It came back online a week or so later--now we have this.

I am retired from a large county school division & have a 403B & a personal annuity account with Corebridge. Recently, I had questions & concerns & requested an in person appointment vs phone or video call. I tried twice,(May-July) once he wouldn’t be available on requested date but didn’t offer an alternate availability.. just wanted an email or phone call w/ questions/concerns. Finally, a month or more later, I was given an appointment only to have it canceled a few days before the appointment date. The email said I could email concerns or have a phone call… I declined. Finally, got an in person appointment & guess what, he couldn’t help me at all with the annuity or 403B question. He was knowledgeable only in signing folks up for 403’s & knew nothing about annuities or what options were available to retirees (self-managing.their 403”s. Perhaps, as long as you’re working, you’ll receive customer service BUT don’t count on any help when you’re retired. SHAMEFUL!!! That’s when you need help! I will use another group that actually have people working daily in the office & available to meet with you.
