Promising Product, Ugly Marketing
I was genuinely impressed by what Holosync appears to offer. The idea behind the Weight Loss Solution, relaxation programmes and the broader Holosync approach seems interesting, helpful and potentially very valuable. That is precisely why the way they handle the customer journey is so disappointing. The checkout and marketing tactics are extremely aggressive, confusing and, frankly, ugly. I selected the Weight Loss Solution and was shown a price of $35. I proceeded with the purchase, and $42 was ultimately taken from my payment method because $7 tax was added at checkout. Fine — taxes can be legitimate, although the final price should be made completely clear before payment. But what happened immediately afterwards was the real problem. After I had apparently completed and paid for my purchase, I was pushed into another sales offer for a discounted yoga programme — essentially another attempt to sell me something immediately after taking my money. Then I received an “abandoned cart” email telling me that they had “put my cart aside” and offering me 10% off to come back and complete the purchase. Excuse me — I had already paid. Now I am deliberately NOT clicking their checkout link again because I have no intention of risking being charged a second time and then having to spend weeks dealing with PayPal to recover a duplicate payment.
