Shipping and ordering were great. Terrible product.
Shipping and ordering were great. The product itself is terrible. I am so extremely disappointed in this product. The essential oil I purchased barely has any scent at all. It’s advertised as a dupe to tom ford leather and for what little scent it has I can only compare to the smell of a potpourri and sneaker store in the mall (albeit leather sneakers). Really disappointed.

Response from Bulk Apothecary· Oct 12, 2026
Thank you for your feedback, Meghan. We're very sorry to hear the fragrance did not meet your expectations, especially when you were hoping for something closer to the Tom Ford Leather profile. Fragrance perception can vary quite a bit from person to person, but we understand your concern about the strength as well as the character of the scent you received. That's certainly disappointing when a fragrance doesn't perform the way you anticipated. We appreciate you taking the time to share such specific feedback, and we'll be passing your comments along to our product team for review. -The Bulk Apothecary Team

i found your site to be sluggish and a bit slow to function. The nomenclature wasn't known to me so i had to move around to find what I wanted. When I did get checked out I got a barrage of emails, like this one putting the cart before the horse. As for your product? I don't know it hasn't arrived. It's once again been delayed. I suppose disappointmint is how I feel using your site.

Response from Bulk Apothecary· Aug 21, 2026
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback, James. We're sorry to hear that your experience has been frustrating, particularly with the website performance, finding the products you were looking for, and the timing of our review requests. We completely understand your point about receiving a review request before your order has even arrived. That's certainly not ideal, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We're also sorry that your shipment has been delayed. We know how disappointing it is to place an order and then have to wait longer than expected to receive it. Your feedback about the website and product terminology is also valuable, especially as we're continually working to make the site easier to navigate and our product information clearer. We appreciate you giving us a try, and we hope your order arrives soon and gives us an opportunity to provide a better experience. -The Bulk Apothecary Team

Received what I thought was the wrong item. Initiated a ticket. Was told I had to return opened bottles via UPS. -This would have cost more than the return was worth -This would have cost me additional money for new packaging -This would have caused a huge mess. Closed the return to prevent the above. Went to place a new order for the product I actually ordered and found the picture was for the item I received. Reached out to customer service again and found out they are the exact same item just with different labels and so I spent twice the money necessary on samples because they really only have 1/2 what they claim to because each product has at least two labels. Now I’m stuck with a bunch of their product and have to use it before finding a better supplier. Two stars because delivery and customer service response were fast. Product is ok. Scented oils are strong. Lotions are good, but heavy on residue.

Response from Bulk Apothecary· May 27, 2026
Thank you for your detailed feedback, Noe. We’re sorry for the confusion and frustration surrounding the product labeling and return process. We understand how discovering that some items share the same base formula under different listing names could feel misleading, especially after placing additional sample orders. Many of these listings exist to help customers find products based on specific search terms or intended uses, but we understand your point and appreciate you bringing this perspective to our attention. We also want to clarify that for approved returns, we provide the return shipping label at no cost, and customers can simply reuse the original box the products arrived in. That said, we’re glad to hear delivery was fast, customer service responded quickly, and that you enjoyed the strength of the fragrance oils and overall lotion quality. We truly appreciate the honest feedback as it helps us continue improving. -The Bulk Apothecary Team

Palm Oil packaged poorly.
I ordered a number of oils, clays, and other items for soap making. Everything was fine except for the 50 lbs of Palm oil. The packaging was completely unacceptable, a plastic bag that was not even sealed inside a single layer box. I had to transfer it to my own buckets (what a pain / mess).

Response from Bulk Apothecary· May 4, 2026
Thank you for your feedback, Jeremy. We’re glad to hear the rest of your order arrived as expected, but we’re very sorry about the condition and packaging of the palm oil. We understand how frustrating and messy that must have been to deal with. This is not the standard we aim for, and we’re taking your feedback seriously as we review our packaging for larger items like this. We appreciate you bringing it to our attention. -The Bulk Apothecary Team

It got here quick but I had ordered 24 8oz jars and only received 2 jars. I have emailed about it but have yet to hear back on where the remaining jars I bought are.

I thought I ordered unscented body lotions, but got Massage Lotion. Needed Body lotion. Maybe another time. Thanks Marcia Pierce

Response from Bulk Apothecary· Apr 22, 2026
Thank you for your feedback, Sally. We’re sorry for the confusion there. The item you received is actually the same formula as our Unscented Body Lotion, it’s labeled as “Unscented Massage Lotion,” and we list it under a couple different names on the site to help customers find it more easily depending on what they’re searching for. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and understand how that could be frustrating. Thank you again for your support! -The Bulk Apothecary Team
