My energy bill is ridiculously high considering I barely use lights and I have one window ac unit that runs. I don’t understand why my bill is so high

We understand how frustrating it is to see a bill that just doesn't feel right. That's definitely not the experience we want you to have, and we'd like to help get to the bottom of it. There are a few things that can affect a bill even with reduced usage of lighting: delivery charges from CenterPoint account for 50% of the bill these days (these are out of our control), high outdoor temperatures that make your AC unit run constantly to keep your space cool, or it's possible there's a meter read discrepancy. Rather than guess, we encourage you to reach out to our customer service team at [email protected] directly so they can pull up your account and walk through the breakdown with you line by line. In the meantime, we recommend keeping the blinds/curtains closed during the hottest hours of the day, using fans to keep cool instead of the air conditioner, and continuing to keep the lights off until it's dark outside.
Haven’t had any issues with anything, no surprises, thanks!

Some how I got the impression that my bill would be just a little less with this plan but it really isn't different from the last company I was with
