BBB used be a trusted and helpful consumer advocate. But it looks like changed recently a lot. I filed complaint against Nelnet last December, but my complaint was not able to see and BBB said only one complaint filed and closed against Nelnet. There were more complaints when I filed it. Also I wrote a review of Nelnet, there were a lot of bad reviews there too. I checked the BBB page today, it was only 5 reviews!! I can't believe it!!! Obviously BBB removed most of reviews including my review. My complaint case was closed after only two or three messages exchanged with Nelnet. It did not reach resolution, but BBB should help more to reach until complaint's desired resolution. Obviously BBB quits to do their jobs. Their job is terrible now. It's so sad we lost a good consumer advocate. We need another consumer advocate instead of BBB. Working one.

Terrible communication and closed my case when I asked a debt collector to provide proof I owe the debt. BBB is a useless company.

Started out well ended bad. I complained about Visible to the BBB. They started a case. Verizon (not visible) responded immediately by saying they reached out to me and now "consider the case resolved". What a joke. No resolution but consider the case resolved. Of course I immediately rejected their claim to resolution stating that they merely said they were going to do something about the problem...my refund. So Verizon sent me another email, and said my phone was on the way and then told BBB that they considered the case resolved. But this time, I was not able to reject the status of "Resolved". Instead, BBB send me a thank you letter and dismissed my case. Clearly, BBB is no longer in the game to expose scam companies and protect consumers. I don't recommend using the BBB at this point. It's clear to me that they are taking money from companies that want protection. Both ABC news (2010) and CNNmoney (2015) did stories exposing pay for ratings schemes where companies are offered a plan for annual fees that could gain them better ratings under certain circumstances. Media created fake companies and paid up front to get A- ratings.

Absolute waste of time. They do nothing. All the business has to do is respond to them to keep their bbb rating! What is the point of their service since they do ZERO investigation to find out what happened.

If you use an email address to bbb review a business, according to bbb you cannot file any complaint about said business ever, which is absurd. So in my case I forgot I reviewed paypal, I with my same email filed a complaint, only to get a rejection/case closed notice from bbb; reason for, understandable. I so then what I did was, I use a different email address of mine to file a 1 and only 1 complaint as said using my different email address. Yet BBB person who I can't name ill-intentionally flagged and prematurely closes my this complaint too. A person using a different email with which one never reviewed a business can file complaints against such business - so you all know, I've done that in the past at BBB without issue. They spin in automated reason given, alleging my recentmost complaint closure as a 'duplicate', even though my complaint legit 1 and only complaint tied to email and not reviewed business with email. ... Want BBB to do the right thing and allow to be created and send my complaint ticket to business paypal for their response.

They sided with one of their business members, Tiner Properties, over me, even though I have pictures proving Tiner Properties lied and committed civil fraud. They do not care one hoot about consumers. It is just about defending their incompetent, corrupt member business.
