AmeriGas PropaneReviews of amerigas.com

Terrible terrible terrible and I can't express how terrible they charge more than anybody else they charge me tank rental fee even though they are my own tanks I call and then I call I can't tell you how bad of a company this is

We have had so many issues with this company in the past from destruction of property which they never reimbursed for repairs to delivery issues. The most recent issue occurred when our service was changed to will call without our notice. The only way this came to our attention was we ran out of propane! While this was initially caused by a late payment, I spent over 2 hours total on the phone trying to get the issue resolved. We've been customers for over 12 years in good standing. On a Friday they agreed to set our account back to the way it was, but when I called on Monday the supervisor I spoke with on Friday had not followed through. I spent an hr on the phone with a rep trying to resolve the issue and when asked to speak with a manager, one was conveniently not available. Really? Customer service is inadequate and unable to resolve any issues. I wanted the number to submit a complaint and the guy actually said I'll submit it for you. Seriously? I'm going to complain to you about your level of service and you're going to submit it for me? Very frustrating. Looking to switch providers.

Billing and prices are just nuts! Their prices are way too high - check around. They have an enrollment period once a year where you can lock in a rate, but they never notify you and tell you of such. They say I can enroll for half a year but I have to pay the full yearly enrollment fee. They have customer NO service! Billing is all wrong. I pay a monthly set amount and my invoice agrees, but yet when Iog into my account online it says I'm late on a payment and owe more money and I also have a ~$400 credit and yet I still owe more money and also late. Make no sense and customer support tells me that they have to explain to me why I still owe on my bill.

Absolutely horrible customer service!! We ordered a delivery when our propane tank went down to empty even though we on auto so this not supposed to happen!! Delivery driver comes out and leaves a note on the door that he is so sorry to have missed us. Please call back to schedule delivery. We do that. We miss work. Nobody comes. We call again!! Then, we get told that it was actually the regulator that was broken and this is why a delivery did not come! Would have been nice to know that the first time. Then, they say that put in a ticket for someone to come fix the regulator. Two weeks and several phone calls to the company, nobody ever calls or shows up to fix the regulator. We then, on our own, hire someone to fix the regulator. Now, three weeks in, the regulator is fixed so we order a delivery on Thursday and get told it will be delivered between Friday and 12 noon Monday. Monday afternoon, still no propane. We call again, tomorrow (now Tuesday) morning by 12. Tuesday afternoon, still no propane. We call again, tomorrow (now Wednesday) by noon as we have escalated your delivery to the top of the list. Today is Wednesday afternoon, still no delivery. Call again, tomorrow (now Thursday or one week from the order date) will be delivered by noon. We are now one month in with no propane. When we call and ask to speak to a supervisor, they do not have the ability to transfer. When you try to call a local office, it is rerouted to the same customer service team where nobody has the ability to help you or get you to someone who can. Oh, and today after they have spoken to me several times about the account. All of the sudden, they can't talk to me because my name isn't on the account; because, it is in my partner's name. Also, during all of this, we have missed days on days of work awaiting a propane delivery that never comes. THIS WHOLE COMPANY IS A JOKE! THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!

They SUCK!!! Avoid at all cost!

The worst company to deal with period. The prices are always 50% higher. If you try to contact your local office the response is "all our local offices are closed to the public" probably the shadiest answer you can give. I've been trying to purchase the tank that is buried on the property and they state that all the assets are frozen at this time. Absolute nightmare and the worst company I've ever had to deal with. If you purchase a home that has a leased tank with this company get it removed!!

What a terrible company! Twice as expensive as their competitors; worse, unethical business practices. They have a contract they never tell you about that you haven't signed that includes locking you into a 3-year deal. You will be charged $149.99 if you cancel with them early AND they will charge you another $149.99 to pick up THEIR tank that you never asked for (it was there when we moved in). They have terrible customer service that includes putting you on hold for 30 minutes or longer. People answering the phone are unhelpful. When we started with them they turned off our gas then charged us to come back out and turn it back on. Infuriating! Terrible company!! Avoid like the plague.

Their tank rental fee is a joke, they even charge you after you sold the place. Company starts off with no tank rental fee then adds it in later.
