AIMS PowerReviews of aimscorp.net

WILL my glf25w12v120oal run an amana side by side refregdarator. the invertor will full power my 40 ft motorhome satilite TV all lights but it wont run the fridg. the fridg only runs when pluged into shore or rv park or home power supply.

I purchased a 1500W inverter/charger. This was as simple as a transaction as possible. The inverter did not work as I expected so I called technical support. They did not return my call the first time I called. I got a hold of support the second time but they did not even ask any questions or try to help me. They forwarded me to returns. I finally got the inverter to work without help from Aims. I am giving them 3 stars and not 1 because the product works but service is bad. If purchase an Aims product buy it through Zoro, they will provide superior customer service.

The inverter works well even under heavy load when powered by vehicle alternator. However when powered only by a bank of four fully charged deep cell batteries, the low voltage threshold kicks in at 12.1v vs the spec that says it should operate all the way down to something like 10.8v. The batteries had 12.4v fully charged, so that only allows a voltage drop of 0.3v before it shuts down. I was expecting a run time of several hours at 3A output. Instead I got beeping alarm almost immediately and shutdown within 10 minutes. I sent detailed information to their technical support to see if this threshold could be adjusted and got absolutely no response. I spent a lot of time and money building the power system only to find it doesn’t work. TLDR. Great when powered by alternator. Useless when powered by battery bank

I’m an ham radio operator and for HF operation AIM inverters don’t seem to be FCC Part 15 certified for noise emissions. I called in once and left my number for a call back and never got one? I’ve been running a Trace 4024 for 20 years 24/7 and don’t have any spurious emissions!

The 2000 watts and up the quality of the inverters are not good quality.

Aims Power needs to be clearer in a explaining the features of its products.

Overall, a good unit. However a somewhat consistent problem is that when the unit has been off, it will not come back online while running off of the vehicle electrical system (12 volt). It will come back online once connected to shore power, and then function normally when switched to 12 volt.
