VolunteerBadgeVolunteerBadge is the most affordable volunteer background check platform for nonprofits, churches, schools, camps, and youth sports organizations — a full national criminal background check for just $5, with no monthly fees, no contracts, no minimums, and no per-seat charges. Unlimited admin users are always free, and credits never expire.Every $5 volunteer background check is FCRA-compliant from start to finish: a national criminal database search, sex-offender registry check across all 50 states, and national watchlist screening, with free address history on every report. Any potential record is reviewed by a trained human analyst before results are released — no auto-flagging, no guesswork. When a record requires action, our free built-in adverse-action workflow walks you through every FCRA step.Unlike other volunteer screening companies, we don't nickel-and-dime mission-driven organizations. Free with every account: biometric identity verification (government ID + selfie), automated character references with video testimonials, volunteer hours tracking, rosters and impact reports, a nonprofit grants database, volunteer waivers, an in-app AI assistant that runs checks and answers FCRA questions in plain English, an API with webhooks, and integrations with Planning Center, Breeze ChMS, Bloomerang, and 6,000+ apps via Zapier. VolunteerBadge Academy adds 120+ free volunteer training courses with shareable certificates — child safety, youth protection, board governance, and more.Whether you need church background checks for children's ministry, school volunteer screening, youth sports coach background checks, background checks for camp counselors, or ongoing quarterly re-screening for a growing volunteer program, VolunteerBadge keeps you compliant and your community safe — at a price a small nonprofit can actually afford.Volunteers get a better experience too. A $5 VolunteerBadge is portable: get screened once, carry your verified badge for 90 days, and share it wit

The experience was efficient and not as demanding as I thought it was going to be when verifying my identity!

Glad to hear! :) Yes, people often get intimidated at the first sign of "identify verification" -- but we designed the workflow to be almost painless. It's an important step in our background check engine. Thanks for using VolunteerBadge!
VolunteerBadge made volunteer screening very easy for MC Youth Ski Club, at a fraction of the cost of the other companies we considered. We’ve had a great experience and would happily recommend them to other organizations working with volunteers!

Thanks for the review and great feedback. Each month, we publish an Impact Report showcasing non-profits across the country benefiting from VolunteerBadge and positively impacting their local communities. Keep up the great work! Impact Report: https://www.volunteerbadge.com/impact-report
As a youth mentorship program, safety is our top priority. We are growing fast and we’re drowning in background check costs. Volunteer Badge is only $5/check and comes with so much more (reference checks, trainings, etc) than our previous vendor. So happy to have found this company!
