Hi Tonimarie, I'm sorry your experience with Traveler's Joy was not superb. In order to redeem your registry gifts, we've streamlined the process to 3 simple steps. We realize 1 simple step would be ideal(!) but it is super important that we confirm your mailing address and bank account information before we send your gifts. If that information is incorrect, it can take weeks to recover the lost funds. The fee is a necessary part of our business model that allows us to provide a living wage to our employees and keep the lights on and the coffee flowing in our office(!). We do provide our couples a choice to receive their gifts in the form of cash or checks which have absolutely zero fees. I'm sorry you were not aware of that option! Dear Couple, I am so sorry this happened to you. We have a partnership with The Knot to make it easy for guests to find couple registries. Once a registry is created, the registry is open to receive gifts unless the couple requests to have the registry deactivated or closed. It sounds like you did not have the best experience with Traveler's Joy and I hope the explanations below help. First, your review will be shared with our entire company at our weekly meeting and we will work together to address your feedback and find a solution. Second, our fee structure is set up as follows: a) For gifts given using a credit card, 2.95% is deducted from the gift amount. The guest is also charged 2.95% + $0.99 on checkout. These fees cover processing the credit card (which can cost us up to 3%), hosting, features, and services of your registry, phone support five days a week, twenty-four hour email support, and support for your wedding guests who wish to purchase a gift for you over the phone. Also, the fee allows us to pay our customer service team a living wage b) There are no "Upgrade" fees, subscriptions, or monthly fees like a lot of other honeymoon registries. c) Finally, our fee structure allows for guests to provide gifts to couples with cash or check which are 100% free. I'd like to learn more about your feedback and how you felt there was a double charge for your registry. Third, our current instant registries cover the most popular places our couples have traveled over the past 10 years. I am interested in learning where you took our honeymoon so we could consider adding that destination to our instant registry portfolio.
