Tokushu Knife is a small, specialist retailer dedicated to authentic Japanese kitchen knives and the craftspeople who make them.We carefully select knives from respected makers such as Nigara Hamono, Masakage, Takamura, and Moritaka, along with whetstones, honing products, sayas, and custom wa handles. Our goal is not to sell you the most expensive knife. It is to help you find the right knife for the way you cook. Founder Tony Maciejewski and the Tokushu sharpening team provide honest, personal guidance before your purchase and knowledgeable support long after your knife arrives. We also offer professional sharpening and custom wa-handle services, with options for wood, handle shape, and ferrule selected to complement your knife and personal style. Every order is carefully packed and insured, and if a shipping issue arises, we handle it directly.Tokushu means “special” or “unique.” We chose the name because the right knife should feel exactly that way: a beautifully made tool you will enjoy using for years.

I misunderstood the website description and purchased the wrong knife for my needs. When I reached out to the company, they were very kind and helpful, and helped me come to a solution that worked for me. Beautiful knives and excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

They were very helpful and professional when I had a personal issue with the shipping address I gave! Would definitely buy from them again.

The prices are good and when they give you 10% off, the prices are great. No wait time or tariffs to come from Japan. I had a question, sent an email and had the answer later that day. I have purchased 4 knives and a loaded strop for my son, Chef Nate, he loves the fit and finish, balance, and the #2 Blue steel. I am on their email list, I like that they don’t bombard you with lots of email. I will continue to do business with Tokushu Knife!
