Absolutely the worst. Food good… price bad. For a German shepherd average healthy weight and a golden retriever puppy… $384 every two weeks. $768 before taxes! It cost more to buy from them than myollie and other companies. Ridiculous. None of the advertisement warns you that you will spend more buying from farmer dog and that this is for rich people only. I thought this was a Company design for the health of dogs, but it’s just another company designed with greed in mind. I was already spending $400 on science diet. I was willing to spend $600 a month on farmers and they want 800 and it’s not even a full 30 days. Rich people have at it. Everyone else try another company who respects clients and is actually for the dogs health not to get money. That’s just shameful and greedy.

Thank you so much for this valuable feedback. Our company started with two dog people that were wanting to create fresh, nutritious food for every dog and budget. Whether you choose to feed your dog our recipes or another fresh food company's, we're just excited that people are choosing to feed their dog's healthy food! That said, we're all about making fresh, top-quality food accessible to everyone, without compromising quality or convenience, so we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. To help alleviate some of the costs, we've got different mixing and topper plan options available. This is a great way to ensure real, healthy food is still going in your dog's bowl while keeping costs down. Our team has sent you an email with more information. We're here to help you out however we can.
After feeding my dog the farmers dog food for several months I gifted a box to my grandmother for her animal. She has been using for several months also. We have noticed the projected amount of food there saying to feed per day is not enough food. After looking into reviews I found that this company isn’t even meeting wsava guidelines and standards. I never knew this before however I now believe this company to be very dishonest.

Hi John — we appreciate your feedback here as we completely understand how important it is to have confidence in the food you feed your dog. We wanted to mention that since our food is all fresh, it's much more nutritionally dense than most commercial foods. This means that in their bowl, it can look like less food than your dog usually eats. We also work closely with vets to figure out the optimal meal plans for dogs based on their breed, age, activity level, ideal weight, and body condition. Moreover, we hope it's reassuring to know that while WSAVA doesn't certify pet food, we follow AAFCO and FDA guidelines for manufacturers, and we also follow USDA food manufacturing procedures. Since WSAVA doesn't provide any guidelines for manufacturers to follow, we've opted to abide by the most stringent protocols and guidelines there are — the same ones that apply to human food manufacturing. You can find how The Farmer’s Dog meets all of WSAVA’s guidelines and answers their questions here: www.thefarmersdog.com/digest/the-farmers-dog-and-wsavas-recommendations-for-picking-a-dog-food. In the meantime, if you can please send us an email at [email protected] and mention this review, we'd love to connect with you and provide any support we can.
My dog is not found of the food and don’t be fooled by the 60% off you think you’re getting food for $25 plus tax, which is a great deal that is not true. They will charge your card after the delivered $125 Don’t forget to read the fine print Under where it says pay, don’t forget to read the terms of use which is 50 pages or more long

I love The Farmer's Dog, and so do Riley (age 12) and Winnie (age 2)! They love the food and I love how easy it is to change the delivery date. I always get an email asking if I need to change the delivery. We live on a fixed income and sometimes things come up we hadn't planned for. An expense, a trip, etc. They make it so easy. I've never had a problem with anything. The food is great, the dogs love it, and they're healthy and happy! Thank you FD!, Cynthia B.

Cynthia, we're delighted Riley and Winnie are doing well on our food! It's wonderful that our flexible delivery options work well for you. We're always here for anything you need!
Our experience with this company was terrible. They sent us unsafe dog food that made our dog sick and they charged us hundreds of dollars for it. Now we are paying hundreds of more dollars to help our sick dog get better. They claim to test all their food to make sure it's safe for consumption before shipping it, clearly their testing is flawed. The veterinarians we called said that lots of dogs get sick when they eat this food and that they do not recommend feeding your dog this food.

We’re so sorry to hear that your dog is feeling unwell. The health of the dogs we feed is of the utmost importance to us and we’d never take a report like this lightly. While we know how stressful it can be to have a sick dog at home, we wanted to assure you that all of our kitchens are USDA-inspected so they're strictly regulated and only used for human-grade food production. Additionally, our recipes are all formulated by board-certified vet nutritionists to meet AAFCO complete and balanced requirements. We additionally have rigorous inspections, health codes, and ingredient standards that we're required to meet. We also have several standard operating procedures in place to ensure that there's no opportunity for contamination of our food. Altogether, our food is made with a level of safety previously unheard of in the pet food industry. In the meantime, a member of our team has reached out via email. If there are further concerns we can speak to or you'd like us to reach out to your vet, please let our team know in your response so we can continue to best support you and your dog.
Started feeding my 8yr old GSD the farmers dog about a year and a half ago because he needed something healthier then kibble food! He is significantly thinner and healthier and much more active!

I fed my 2 year old mini schnauzer 2 different recipes from The Farmers Dog for a few weeks. She developed pancreatitis. BE AWARE that their recipes are VERY HIGH in FAT content when compared to other dog food. CHICKEN: dry weight fat content 37.4%
