TextbookX is an e-commerce site dedicated to finding students the lowest price for their books. We mix our own inventory with that of third-party sellers (in many cases, the same sellers as on Amazon and similar sites) in order to provide one of the largest inventories of new, used, digital, and rental books.

Ordering books from here has been good the couple of times I have done so. The ability to sell books back to the company is cool as well. However, most times, I can find my books much cheaper on Amazon and with faster shipping, even without Prime benefits. I have never had a book not arrive from TextbookX, but my roommate did not receive one of hers, and the other took two months to arrive when the shipping said it would take two weeks.

This method of buying textbooks is more efficient than ordering in person. But that is only if you receive the said textbooks in an efficient amount of time. It was very frustrating when some of my books did not come in and then I had to reorder them after my class had started and I needed to use the reading material. The shipping tracking is not accurate and if the product is late, you probably will not ever receive the item.

I appreciated the price matching but I was still able to find it cheaper on other sites, however, this was the only site I was guaranteed a textbook which was extremely helpful.

Not always accurate and could be improved

Yes they sent the right book. Yes their price was reasonable. But in the current climate, using the amount of packaging they do is completely unacceptable. A massive box comes to my house, only to contain a tiny reference manual (3x8). The amount of box was totally not appropriate for the size of the book and THE WORLD IS ON FIREEE !! Do better textbookx!

Hey Brenda, Thanks for the feedback. Most of our books ship in flat packs, particularly something of the size you mentioned. I believe I have identified the item in question, which came from a third party. I'm going to send you a private message to confirm, then using that information we will definitely reach out to the vendor to request they change to using flat packs as well, especially when it's a single book. Thanks again, TextbookX
It's fine. It's nice how they show you all of the books you need, but they put the books you need for spring term before the books you need for fall term which is weird. Also, the "best value" books are almost never actually the best value you can find, just search for the book on amazon or something and you'll probably find a better price. It's nice to have a list of all of the books you need in one place though.

Sometimes the deals for textbooks may be cheaper and sometimes may not be cheaper than other retailers like Chegg, Amazon, or Textbook Underground. This site is easy to use, because it connects your professors required, recommended, & suggested books for the class you’ll take with them. I’ve had a recent experience where the site was incorrect in not posting an access code that was required for my class this semester. The service times could be improved in getting textbooks shipped to students since most of the time, students have to wait to get the syllabus to understand which books are needed to be ordered first, if financially they’re unable to get them all at once.

The site is okay to use. It's easy to navigate and find the books you need. It is more expensive though, and the shipping options might not be as fast as Amazon or other places you can buy the books at. My biggest complaint is that the books are too expensive. It's definitely better to buy lightly used books from a different place.
