smartIT was founded on a simple belief: technology should empower people, not create roadblocks. Our founders, trained at IBM, saw how small businesses, nonprofits, schools, and startups faced the same IT challenges as large enterprises but without the resources to solve them. That realization inspired smartIT. We set out to deliver enterprise-level expertise with a human-first approach that puts people before tickets.Headquartered in Long Island, New York, smartIT serves businesses, schools, nonprofits, startups, and enterprises across New York City, New Jersey, Westchester, and Connecticut. Instead of passing problems through endless queues, we focus on one-ticket resolution. Most issues are solved on the first request so teams can keep moving forward without disruption. Our services include IT support and managed services, cybersecurity, cloud migrations, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, networking and Wi-Fi, VoIP and AV, and strategic guidance through fractional or dedicated vCIO and vCISO leadership. Every client also receives account management support to ensure clear communication, proactive planning, and long-term partnership. At smartIT we are more than IT support. We are trusted partners who exist to protect, empower, and clear the path so your organization can succeed with confidence.

My supervisor was very approachable, available, and helpful, making the internship enjoyable. Additionally, the work hours were flexible and allowed me to accomplish other commitments during my time during this internship. I also learned marketing skills and computer literacy, and became more proficient in excel during my time with SmartIT. Overall, I really enjoyed my time and would do it again in a heartbeat.
