ServerCrate provides private, zero-knowledge encrypted offsite backup storage for developers, homelab operators, and teams that take data ownership seriously. Our service is built around Restic over REST/HTTPS. Your data is encrypted on your own machine before it ever reaches our infrastructure, so we cannot read your files, access your backups, or recover your data. Only you hold the encryption key. This zero-knowledge model keeps your backups private at all times, not as a promise, but as an architectural guarantee.Unlike generic cloud storage, ServerCrate is built specifically for reliable offsite backup. Every customer gets a dedicated, ZFS-backed vault with predictable performance and no hidden egress fees. Because the repository is standard, open Restic format, there is no vendor lock-in. You keep your existing backup workflows and can move your data to any other Restic backend at any time.ServerCrate launched in 2025 as a Los Angeles hosting provider and has since focused entirely on encrypted backup. We run an external verifier that continuously restores a test backup and publish a public status page, so reliability is demonstrated, not just claimed.Backups you can trust when it actually matters.
