While our knives are built for long-term performance, they do require proper care and maintenance over time — including appropriate cleaning (hand wash only), thorough drying, and regular inspection of the blade surface. Over several years of use, factors such as moisture exposure, impact, improper storage, or sharpening techniques can affect the outer cladding layer. Our Limited-Lifetime Warranty covers manufacturing defects identified within a reasonable period after purchase. Given that this set has been in use for approximately three years, we’re unfortunately unable to classify this as a factory defect or offer a replacement under warranty. Unfortunately, it does not cover damage from accidental drops, misuse, or normal wear over time — including cracking that can occur due to environmental factors such as temperature or humidity, even with careful hand washing. Handles are inspected and reinforced during manufacturing, but cracks can sometimes develop outside of a defect in materials or workmanship. We also ask customers to report any defects or damage within 30 days of delivery, as outlined in our Damages and Issues policy, so concerns can be properly evaluated while the condition of the item is still clear. In this case, the knife was reported beyond 30 days after receipt and after use. While we understand the concern regarding a loose handle, issues reported well beyond the inspection window—especially after use—can unfortunately fall into the category of wear, handling, or environmental factors, which are not covered under the warranty. This limitation is standard across the industry and allows us to apply the policy fairly and consistently.
