No help with getting acct from this company because they were not clear on how to do so. Would never recommend them to anyone , they are nothing but con artists from the start. Stay away from them

SELLS UNSAFE VEHICLES, AVOID! We had a vehicle delivered for $399. Upon the initial drive, it experienced "death wobble" -- violent front end instability at 55+ mph (along with a failed hybrid system, and broken hood latches). Took it to the dealer and it needed over $2200 in repairs. We declined citing death wobble as likely chronic, and asked for return under the 7 day warranty. Car was picked up from the dealer almost a week later. Ruby debited over $2000 on our refund for return transport (yes, 5x the original fee) on an unsafe vehicle. This wasn't cosmetic, or preference but a NHTSA recognized safety defect on a vehicle with a "pre-sale inspection". Unless you like haircuts from the finance dept. avoid them like the plague. UPDATE: Ruby is reportedly refunding the bulk of the transport fee on the return. Still the most expensive test drive on a supposedly “inspected” vehicle ever. We are out $800 plus interest on the note. Crazy business practice.

We sincerely apologize for the unacceptable and frustrating experience you had with the vehicle you received. Finding that a car delivered to your home had safety issues, including the "death wobble," the failed hybrid system, and broken hood latches, is absolutely unacceptable, and we regret that our pre-sale inspection missed these critical defects. We are actively reviewing our inspection protocol to address how these issues were overlooked, as this falls far short of our safety standards. We are glad we were able to quickly address the unjust transportation fee and confirm that we have already submitted the correction for the transport fee refund amount. We can also confirm that the vehicle is back in our possession, and the unwind process has been submitted to the lender. We are currently awaiting their final instructions, which is the last step required to finalize your full refund. We appreciate your patience as we complete this final step, and we deeply regret that your experience with our company started and ended with such significant problems. We are committed to processing the remaining refund as quickly as possible.
Couldn't be worse. Dragged the process out until my wife ultimately had to abandon the deal. Not at all transparent. Probably the worst car buying experience I've had.

We are genuinely sorry to hear that your car buying experience was so negative and frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for the issues that ultimately led your wife to abandon the deal. This is -absolutely not the transparent and efficient process we aim to provide. We take feedback like this very seriously, as it highlights critical areas where we need to improve. To help us investigate what went wrong and ensure this doesn't happen to future customers, we would greatly appreciate more details about your specific experience. - Could you please contact us directly at 1-800-742-5129 or reply to the private message with your full name or the VIN/Stock Number of the vehicle you were interested in? We want to understand where the process broke down and use this information to make things right.
By far the worst car buying experience ever. Cars are not inspected as described. Never sends your reimbursement money back to you. I’m taking the car off the delivery truck straight to the shop for repairs. No one helps you. DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR HERE. SHOP LOCALLY.

We are truly sorry to hear that your car buying experience was so disappointing and frustrating. This is certainly not the standard we aim for, and we sincerely apologize for the issues you've encountered with your vehicle's condition, the reimbursement process, and our customer support. We understand your frustration regarding the vehicle needing immediate repairs. We strive to thoroughly inspect all vehicles, and we regret that your car did not meet your expectations. Regarding your reimbursement, we acknowledge there may have been a misunderstanding. As we previously discussed, the reimbursement process for a trade-in balance typically begins after the 7-day return policy has expired to ensure all aspects of the sale are finalized. We understand that waiting can be frustrating, and our financial office has confirmed that your refund will be processed today 7/30. We understand your disappointment and are committed to improving our processes, from vehicle inspection to communication and post-sale support. Your feedback is invaluable as it helps us identify areas where we need to do better.
Ready for an amazing but true story? I went online to Avis-Ruby Cars and found a Mazda my wife and i like at a decent price. I went through a sales person, spent hours online with their crappy software and finally got approved and went to the finance dept. She promised she would call that day. Didnt. So, i called and emailed her the next day. No response. I called the following day and Josh informed me my finance person was no longer there had a trade in and said he would help. Back to the crappy software for 3 hours and they extend me terms from a bank. Not bad. I put down my deposit and have a delivery date. Josh calls me the next day to tell me someone put the wrong car value in their system and they would need another $5,000 for a deposit or a cosigner. So i cosign for my wife and guess what? They need $5,000 additional. They dinged my wifes credit 17 points and mine for 12. I would think SERIOUSLY about doing business with these clowns.

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback on Trustpilot. We genuinely regret that your recent experience with Avis-Ruby Cars left you feeling frustrated and disappointed. Please accept our apologies for any miscommunication or inconvenience you encountered during your car-buying journey. We understand that the process felt lengthy due to the time spent with our online application software, and we are continuously working to streamline and improve this experience for all our customers. We also apologize for the disruption caused by the change in finance personnel and any lack of immediate communication regarding that transition. Regarding the financing process, securing vehicle financing involves a thorough review by our lending partners, who consider various factors including credit history, vehicle valuation, and current market conditions. While we strive to provide accurate initial estimates, final approvals and terms can sometimes be subject to adjustments if additional information comes to light or if the lender's assessment requires different parameters. Our aim is always to find a viable solution that meets both the customer's needs and the lender's requirements. We regret that the need for an additional deposit or co-signer was not communicated with the clarity and timeliness you deserved. We also understand your concern about the impact on your credit scores. When multiple credit inquiries are made for the same type of loan within a short period, credit bureaus often group them to minimize the overall impact. However, we recognize that any unexpected change can be unsettling, and we apologize for any distress this may have caused. We have promptly processed the refund. At Avis-Ruby Cars, our goal is to provide transparent and supportive service to every customer. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further concerns. Sincerely, The RubyCar Team
Rubycar advertised a haggle free transparent process. And great 4.99 % APR. I had a loan available through USAA, at 5.67% APR (and 5.42 with automatic payment set up) and zero down. Ruby even with a co-applicant had well over 7%. But to use my own loan Ruby would charge a “cash fee” of $499 taking the vehicle over $25k by $188 and eliminating my eligibility for the federal clean energy vehicle tax credit of $4k. So in the end a big waste of time, all over $188.

It has been a few months since we bought the car, and I still have not been sent the plates. They are unable to issue me new temp plates, so I can't even drive this car legally. They did not ask me for some apparently needed info for the perm plates until a month after I bought the car. Then I provided what they asked for, then a few weeks later they said they needed more. The car needed to be serviced just a few weeks after buying it, and it did not come with a second key as promised. It took me 4 customer service agents to get approval for me to buy my own key and have it reimbursed. The car is sitting in our driveway undrivable at the moment.

If I could give them a zero I would. Vehicle was delivered late and offer two temp tags I couldn’t drive my vehicle…I was without registration for 2 weeks and missed out of so much work

We sincerely apologize for the frustrating experience you've had with your vehicle delivery and registration, and we understand your disappointment about missing work. This is certainly not the smooth process we strive for, and we regret any inconvenience and financial impact this caused. We acknowledge the delays you experienced with your vehicle delivery and registration. While we made attempts to assist throughout the process, our records indicate that a portion of the delay was due to a prolonged signing period for necessary paperwork. Regarding your request for reimbursement for lost wages, please understand that our company policy does not cover such claims. Our responsibility is to facilitate the vehicle purchase and registration process, and we made efforts to provide the necessary temporary tags and escalate the permanent registration. We understand this may be disappointing, and we sincerely regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. We are continuously working to improve our processes and communication to prevent similar issues for future customers. We value your feedback and are committed to learning from every experience.
