The Latency is Unmatched: The speed at which the agent responds is genuinely conversational. Other platforms I tested had that awkward "walkie-talkie" delay but Retell feels near-instant. Handling Interruptions: This is usually where voice AI breaks but Retell handles "barge-ins" (when a customer talks over the bot) surprisingly well. It stops talking immediately and listens, just like a human would. Developer Flexibility: The API is extremely robust. We were able to integrate it with our custom CRM and calendar bookings fairly easily because the documentation for the API itself is solid. Constructive Feedback: While the tech is amazing, the pricing model for development is a pain point. Testing Should Not Be Billed: Currently, you get charged for usage even while testing and iterating in the playground. This feels like a penalty for trying to perfect your prompt. It would be much better if there was a "Dev Mode" or a sandbox environment where testing is free (or significantly cheaper), so we aren't burning credits just to debug a script.
