Deeply Disappointing Relocation Experience
I have relocated between California and Italy eight times over the past several years, so I am very familiar with the process and what to expect from international moving companies. Unfortunately, my most recent move with Rainer Overseas was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Pickup Delays and Poor Communication The problems started on day one. Rainer Overseas was scheduled to pick up our household goods at 2:00 pm, but they didn’t arrive until 7:00 pm—five hours late, with no meaningful updates or apologies. This caused unnecessary stress and upended our carefully planned moving schedule. Unacceptable Delivery Time While every other company I’ve used has delivered my shipment in 40 to 60 days, Rainer Overseas took a staggering 106 days to deliver our belongings. That’s nearly double the typical timeframe and completely unacceptable for a transatlantic move. Damaged Goods When our shipment finally arrived, several boxes were completely crushed. It was obvious that our belongings had been handled very poorly throughout the journey. Some items inside were damaged as a result, adding insult to injury after such a long wait. Summary After seven successful relocations with other companies, I can confidently say that Rainer Overseas provided the worst moving service I have experienced. From late pickup and excessive delays to careless handling of our possessions, every step of the process was disappointing. I would strongly advise anyone considering an international move to look elsewhere.

Response from Rainier Overseas Movers· Jul 1, 2025
Dear Luigi, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we regret that your moving experience did not meet your expectations, we want to clarify the facts surrounding your claim. Prior to your move, we provided multiple insurance options, including full replacement coverage for your household goods. You initially selected the more comprehensive option, but later asked us to revise your policy to a limited “Total Loss” coverage—despite being fully informed of its limitations. That policy strictly covers the shipment only in the event of complete loss or destruction, not for individual item damage. We understand and empathize with your disappointment. However, Rainier fulfilled its obligations both contractually and ethically. We handled your shipment, processed your claim in coordination with the insurance provider, and issued compensation in accordance with the coverage you ultimately chose. We take pride in offering transparency throughout the insurance process and giving our customers the ability to choose a level of protection that suits their needs and budget. Again, we truly wish the outcome had been more satisfactory for you. That said, your review appears to place fault on our company for limitations you knowingly accepted and even requested. We believe it's important for future customers to understand that while we strive for excellence, the level of protection they elect for their goods matters greatly in the event of unforeseen damage. Should you wish to discuss this further, I am happy to speak with you directly. Sincerely, Rainier Management
