Quark ExpeditionsReviews of quarkexpeditions.com

A superb trip with Quark. Excellent facilities on board: cabin, lounge, food, etc A real focus on safety - especially when transferring to zodiac/RIBs Brilliant cooperation between the Captain and the Expedition leader. We didn't get the exact trip we booked - it was waaaaaaaaaay better. "I'll be back" - hopefully fairly soon.

The whole crew was very well trained, friendly, helpful and pleasant. Most of the expedition team members were awesome. The food was below expectation. A question out of curiosity, why did we have to start in Calgary instead of Reykjavik? For guests like me coming all the way from Asia, its an extra unnecessary long haul to Calgary.

Our trip to Greenland was a wonderful experience. We were beyond fortunate to have very good weather throughout our time in South Greenland so the itinerary was full of activities every day. It was a huge advantage to have access to helicopters. Having the opportunity to see the ice sheet, the glaciers and the fjords from the air, as well as through landings, added enormously to the whole experience. It was great that helicopter flights were included in the cost of the trip, and that no additional cost was incurred. Quark was up front in briefings about the number of helicopter flights they hoped to provide for each guest. While the flights were weather dependent I felt that we had the opportunity to make full use of the helicopters throughout the voyage. The organisation of zodiac cruises, hikes, paddling and helicopter flights was extremely impressive. Activities were fully underway on the first day we arrived in Greenland. Positive, cheerful, encouraging staff facilitated every activity. I particularly liked that the paddling activity was completely no fuss. No prior experience was required and it was very easy to transfer from the zodiac into the kayak and paddle away. There was always help available if needed. In both hiking and paddling excursions there was time to take in the surrounds and enjoy the experience. No forced marches or pressure to keep up. We are active people aged 70 and 71 and we managed all the activities comfortably. The Tundra to Table Inuit meal was a real highlight and well worth booking. The meal was absolutely delicious and the young Greenlandic chefs were delightful. We enjoyed the company of our fellow guests and our comfortable cabin. The presentations were of a very high standard. This was a trip of a lifetime to a remote location few people have the opportunity to visit. We are grateful to Quark for such a fantastic time.

The entire experience was extremely well and thoughtfully organized and enacted. The crew worked harmoniously together and were full of enthusiasm and highly knowledgeable. They were very friendly everywhere, from the excursions to passing in the hall. The hotel staff were unbelievably friendly, thorough and helpful. There were a variety of activities geared to a variety of levels, which more than met my needs. Service and food were exceptional. The vistas , other worldly. Talks were highly informative. Two thoughts I would have liked to have had an option to have a used parka instead of having a brand new one. I know they can be donated, but I heard that Greenland already has too many. Also the meal times could be extended by half an hour. It was the most awe inspiring experiences I have had and I have had a few. I would highly recommend recommend your company and this experience. Thanks
