Went through the effort of trying to convince them to vet their services. They simply flat out deny allowing me to create an account even though the service we are building is 100% transactional with no marketing. I've never seen such rejection with absolutely zero explanation. I'm so glad I finally found these other bad reviews to get perspective on what I believe is just a really bad way of doing things. Yuck.

Utterly bad support and a huge nightmare trying to contact the support to resolve a SMS pricing issue. And later left me being unable to receive any SMS from them yet being charged. Some of their default SMS template does not even have the correct encoding and therefore segments your sms text unnecessarily and ends up costing you a lot more than what they advertise on their pricing page. If you are the Plivo agent looking at this TrustPilot review, have a look at your support ticket: #359879 Complete waste of time and incompetent support. Went to Twilio instead.

This company is a scam. They collect your personal data in the registration process only to tell you right afterwards that "based on risk assessment" they are not able to provide services. What an utter nonsense.

they don't seem to be operating. New account not allowed with no reason give. I think this business is effectively closed.

Before I start, I see they have a 1 star rating. A few years ago I would have been shocked. But after todays issues, I am not shocked. Well, I have been with Plivio for 5 years now. The 1st 4 years were great. Never any issues, and very helpful and easy to work with when transferring in numbers. This last year something changed (probably management) I noticed their support very slow, and not helpful at all. Stop replying to tickets. Well last week I wanted to update my email address, and after about a week of back and fourth they reply with "Hi Team, We have received an update from our internal team and we wanted to inform you that, as part of our routine account audit processes, your account has been flagged due to one or more issues. Consequently, we have implemented a block on your account. Our team has conducted a thorough assessment, and after careful consideration, our decision is final. We understand that this news may be unexpected, and we appreciate your understanding of the circumstances that have led us to make this decision." Then they charged my credit card $33 As I checked my statement, they charged me another $25 last week as well. Going to have to put in chargebacks. What a shame.

Stay far, far way. Plivo is nothing but a scam now. It's impossible to get a new account, and even existing accounts (I had one for five years) have been shut down without warning.
