My girlfriend is fighting breast cancer…
My girlfriend is fighting breast cancer, and today was her final chemotherapy treatment. I wanted nothing more than to be there when she rang the bell, but because I just started a new job, I couldn’t be with her. So I trusted Phillips Florist to deliver pink roses to her infusion center so she’d feel my support while she was in treatment. When I set this up, I called the infusion center myself — they knew the flowers were coming. Phillips had the correct address, the correct suite number, and the correct patient name. A little after 10 AM, I called Phillips and was told the flowers had been delivered. Thirty minutes later, I got a call back saying the driver had gone to a completely different medical center because “Alice” was there — not in Lisle, but in Willowbrook. From what I can gather, the driver went to the correct address but gave the wrong name, and the medical center sent him elsewhere. My girlfriend’s name is Eileen. At no point did the driver call me to clarify anything. I had no idea there was even an issue until after the flowers had already been delivered to the wrong location. Then I was told the driver would go back, pick them up, and deliver them to our home instead. A few minutes later, when I called to cancel, I was given some different details in their explanation. None of it added up. This was an important, emotional day for us. I trusted Phillips Florist with something meaningful, and they failed at every step — the delivery, the communication, and the honesty. I’m extremely disappointed.
