ZERO STARS. This company uses misleading advertising for its "emergency fund". Be very well-informed before signing up. Know fluently what Petcubes definition of a "life-threatening emergency" vs. "critical". VERY IMPORTANT INFO YOU NEED TO KNOW: your pet is NOT covered unless they are "at risk of death in 4 hours" This was directly from their mouths...

Hi, Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we are sorry that our services did not meet your expectations. All life-threatening emergencies must be assessed and referred by one of our qualified vets through Petcube’s app or website only. It is your responsibility to contact one of our vets prior to visiting an emergency/vet clinic to get an assessment and referral for their pet. Mandatory uploading of a video of your pet for proper assessment is required before our vets can recommend the fund activation. Texting is not sufficient to reach a decision if it is a life-threatening emergency. After the assessment, pet owners have 4 hours to seek medical emergency care as recommended by the vet that confirmed the life-threatening emergency. Funds will not be released and available to clinics after the 4 hours have expired from the time of the life-threatening emergency confirmation. Waiting for medical care can result in an unnecessary emergency for your pet, and Petcube does not support medical negligence. This is a scam. Never got the Petcube or a email confirmation and had to report it to my bank to get my money back.

I have not been able to make this thing work. I tried the "live chat" and got nowhere. Now I have this things sitting on my counter, useless.

Liars. My dog had an emergency and I never was able to talk to a vet.
My dog was having trouble breathing so I used the “I’ve got an emergency” and let them know his symptoms (trouble breathing, wheezing, whining, trembling, excessive drooling). I waited. And waited. Finally, I just had to take him in to the urgent care. Over an hour and I never heard back from PetCube. He has aspiration pneumonia and they recommend he stays at an overnight for oxygen but I can’t afford it. This was supposed to be my emergency fund but PetCube really screwed me over. Complete and utter liars. What am I supposed to do? Am I going to lose my dog?

Emergency fund
This review is specifically for Petcube's emergency fund. I have not purchased any of their other products. I had purchased their emergency fund after pawp went downhill. $30/month for $3000 in the case of an emergency is not a bad deal, however this company sets their clientele up for failure. You must get approval from their vets prior to your visit to an emergency room in order for them to pay, which is pretty standard. However, they only allow you to text chat with the vet and send pictures/videos. There is no video chat feature. There is no phone chat option. You know, the options that would allow you to save time when facing an EMERGENCY. Oh, also, if your video clip is too large, their interface won't be able to send it to the vet. Their advice? Just take another video but make sure it's under 30 seconds. Or, while you're facing this potentially life-threatening crisis, just take the time to crop your video (assuming you know how), and then try re-sending to see if that works. Really stellar customer care here. And when I complained about this interface and it's backwards configuration in the face of an emergency? Whoops! Sorry, they can't reimburse me because I didn't get approval before heading to the emergency room. But they will "take note on my suggestion regarding a video chat feature." Real quality care, right there.

Poor quality camera
Poor quality camera. Constantly needs resetting, worked maybe 50% of the time when out. Reset camera each time before going out and still not reliable. Have thrown it out and chose the Eufy indoor camera instead - amazing and so much better

One device per camera? Really?
Why is it so hard (or impossible) for two people with the same pet in the same home to use the same camera? When partner connects his phone to camera, it boots mine off. We are in the same petcube "family" but he still can't see anything from the camera? This is incredibly stupid. Also, you might want to check the ads for your store. There is an ad for "Petcube Care Up to 90 day video history + pet and human alerts $3.99/month" and when I click on it, the 90 day video history is clearly with the $9.99/month? I think I'm on the $5.99/month plan but I have no easy way to check if it booted me off of this when it disconnected me from the camera. Also, camera doesn't seem to catch most pet movement during the night, very disappointing. Can't wait for a better product to come out.

I bought the petcube a week ago and wished I'd gone elsewhere. Video is not clear, my phone is forever saying lost signal, and you cannot get a decent portrait view. It's Rubish
