The Bachmann n scale gears for older 2-8-0/2-8-2 locomotives work! There is a bit of trial and error repairing older n scale locomotives (broke a couple gears), but once I figured it out they worked very well. There are other issues with my locomotive (needs additional electrical pick up in the tender) but replacing the gears made it work again!

Gears fit with a minimum of cleanup and no drilling for axle fit. Seems to have fixed the issues caused by OEM cracked gears.

What makes the experience great? It’s in the entire transaction.
