Be Very Careful with Palmetto / LightReach – My Solar Experience
I signed solar agreements for two houses in Texas after their salesperson told me I should expect about a $0 utility bill after installing solar. I was also told that if the system wasn't enough, they could add panels, and if I sold the house and the buyer didn't want solar, the system could be removed. My experience was completely different. I am now paying both the LightReach monthly payment and substantial utility bills, and the combined cost is higher than what I was paying before solar. When I complained, LightReach asked me for written proof or recordings of what the salesperson had told me verbally. When I asked about cancellation, I was informed that the amount could be over $50,000. I am now formally disputing both agreements and filing consumer complaints. If you are considering Palmetto / LightReach, get every sales promise in writing before signing. If anyone has had a similar experience, especially promises about a $0 utility bill, additional panels, or removal, please contact me.
