Hi Firas, We’re sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your experience. We do want to clarify that #1 Garage Door does not make coverage decisions and we are not compensated based on whether a warranty claim is approved or denied. Our technician’s responsibility is to inspect the equipment, document the condition found at the time of service, and report those findings to the home warranty company. The warranty company then reviews that information and makes the final determination regarding coverage based on the terms of your policy. We also take concerns regarding the accuracy of a technician’s diagnosis seriously. Management has reviewed the documentation from this visit, including the technician’s reported findings regarding the opener and electrical damage. We understand that you disagree with that diagnosis, but we have found no indication that information was intentionally misrepresented for the purpose of causing a denial. We understand how frustrating it can be when a warranty claim does not receive the outcome you were expecting, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify our role in the process.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re very glad to hear that Corey was professional and provided a positive service experience once he arrived. We’re sorry, however, that the scheduling and communication leading up to your appointment did not meet expectations. We understand how frustrating it can be when getting an appointment scheduled becomes more difficult than it should be. Your feedback is important to us and helps us identify where we need to improve our customer experience. Thank you for your patience and for giving our team the opportunity to assist with your garage door needs.

Eric, we sincerely apologize for the experience you had with our scheduling and the inconvenience this caused. Having two appointments cancelled or missed while your garage door remained unusable is not the level of service we expect to provide. While Astrid and Josh did their best to assist you, we recognize that friendly communication does not make up for the lack of follow-through. After two unsuccessful appointments, we should have done a better job of escalating the situation and finding a more reasonable solution rather than asking you to wait another nine days. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Your feedback is being taken seriously and will be reviewed with our scheduling and management teams so we can identify where the breakdown occurred and prevent similar situations moving forward. We apologize again for the frustration and inconvenience this caused you. — #1 Garage Door

Akramov, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the communication throughout your service experience did not meet expectations. As a service provider working with home warranty companies, our responsibility is to diagnose the garage door system, document our findings, and submit that information to the warranty company. Coverage decisions, including denials or goodwill credits, are ultimately determined by the warranty provider. We do understand your frustration regarding the lack of follow-up after the goodwill credit was discussed. Regardless of the warranty decision, we strive to keep our customers informed when there are changes to scheduling, repair requirements, or pricing. If additional parts or repairs are identified as necessary to safely and properly complete the work, the scope and cost of the repair may change from an earlier estimate. However, those changes should be clearly communicated so the customer understands what changed and why before moving forward. We appreciate your feedback and will use it as an opportunity to review our communication and follow-up processes. We would welcome the opportunity to review the specifics of your service history and provide any additional clarification that may be helpful.
