The lack of customer support is appalling. They refuse to transfer me to a supervisor or manager. Have given me the run around regarding a return. And want me to return a product to their home office on the west coast from NC (over $500 in shipping) rather than back to the distribution center in GA. AWFUL

I bought a cover for my boat from National Covers. The website is not the most detailed, I needed a cover for a wake boat with tower. I purchased cover for Wake Boat with 4 point tower. Cover came and it is for a deck boat with wake tower, so too wide in front. I am willing to exchange for bow rider with wake tower, but the process is soooo cumbersome. They really don't want to take product back. This is a $900 cover! I have electronic receipt and the form online asks for all sorts of info not on the receipt. I have the order number which means they should have all the info on the order! But NO the form requires me to put part # in and other details they MUST have in the order system. WTF? And the clock is ticking, 30 days only to return and once the return form is generated you have like 7 days to make the return. They are border line crooks. Think hard before making purchasde

Buyer Beware..... Poor Fit, Inferior material, lack of communication about the refund/return policy by the Sales Staff, and lengthy response time to receive a Claim number, created a terrible experience. Not only did the cover not fit, we had to pay the shipping to return the item. In the end, we were only refunded 45% of the actual purchase price once we were charged a restocking fee, credit card processing fee, along with sales tax on a returned item. Check them out on the BBB, which they are not accredited, with over 180 complaints filed. Also, look at reviews on Forest River and Reddit.... Lessons learned.

I purchased a boat cover from National that was 6 inches to short and did not fit my boat. Their return policy took 2 weeks to receive a return/claim number only after I threatened to file a complaint with my credit card company. From my original price of the cover I lost $80 restocking fee, $54 credit Card fee to run the return transaction & $72 shipping fee to return the boat cover. In the end I lost nearly half my money from the original purchase price over a cover that said no problem to return. Just another corrupt company hiding their return policy and employees that never tell you the true facts of their return policy. I will never do business with National or any California company again!

I called there customer support line to put an order in. I was unsure how to measure to get the right top. I had everything pulled up on my computer and measured as they said. While talking to the agent I gave him all info on my pontoon. He assured me what I had on the bimini top was what I needed. So I placed the order. My pontoon went in the shop for repair and my work schedule didn't allow me to try it in the 30 days. I was 34 days. It was not even close to fitting. When I called in to return I was told if I would have let the customer service guy place order they would have taken it back. But since I did it I was out of luck. Basically saying I was lying about having agent on phone while I placed order. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

Horrible experience! Should have read reviews first! Placed an order by phone and have gotten the run-around ever since! Did not have the color that I ordered so they sent a different color. Spoke to 4 or 5 people and got a different story each time. Spoke with Maier and he was rude and obnoxious, telling me what his SYSTEM indicates versus the TRUTH. I’ve asked to speak with the owner and got no response. I want to return the top but can’t reach anyone!!

Charged a fee on a product that was never made I placed an order over the weekend and needed to cancel within 48 hours due to circumstances outside my control. The representative confirmed in writing that the order had not entered manufacturing yet. Despite that, National Covers charged a 10% cancellation fee. Their own written policy states the fee only applies to Made to Order items “already in the manufacturing process” at the time of cancellation. When I pointed out this contradiction the fee was refused to be waived, and I was told they would ship the product anyway if I did not accept it. The Made in USA branding drew me to this company and I expected that to come with strong customer service. Unfortunately that was not my experience. Be aware of how cancellations are handled before you order.

I ordered a boat cover from this company based on the fit guarantee that was prominently advertised on their website. Before placing my order, I carefully followed their measuring instructions and watched their instructional videos. To ensure the measurements were as accurate as possible, I even used a plumb bob when measuring both the bow-to-stern length and beam width. About ten days later, the cover arrived. While the material was thinner than I expected, that alone would not have been a major concern. The real problem is that the cover does not come close to fitting properly—neither front-to-back nor side-to-side. This cover was manufactured using measurements obtained through the company’s own prescribed process, yet it failed to fit as guaranteed. Despite this, I am being charged return shipping, a restocking fee, and a 10% credit card transaction fee. I understand and can accept paying return shipping costs and even a reasonable restocking fee. However, charging a 10% credit card transaction fee when the product was improperly made and does not fit as promised is unacceptable. As a result, I am facing nearly $400 in fees for a cover that failed to meet the company’s stated fit guarantee. I followed every instruction provided, took great care in measuring, and fulfilled my responsibilities as a customer. Instead of standing behind their guarantee, the company is placing the financial burden on me. Buyer beware.
