The sensors and devices are excellent and very cost effective, been using them for 10 years. Industrial and AA sensors are solid and the switch to a button with status light is a game changer on industrial. Some sensors are fairly expensive. The software is functional but a little too distributed and you have to go all over to get tasks done and most people find it non-linear and don't know what to do first. Also the lack of a live dashboard is disappointing. There's a lot of options and it has significantly more features than most comparable systems, especially for the price. Alert logic is pretty strong but lacks ability to do multi step logic. Support is generally helpful and a number of agents are stellar. My rep April is always helpful and reachable. The real negatives are the lack of an installable app (web app confuses people), confusing push alert setup, cost of text alerts, forced login every time open app/website, buggy 2-factor, a real negative if 2-factor is forced upon all (farm temperatures are NOT a security risk haha), no live dashboard upon login with no way to quickly see live sensor data making it a chore to do a quick check, and adding sensors has too many useless steps that waste time if you don't know you can skip. A major long term draw back is they don't really support sensor repair beyond 2-3 years. Repair is generally cost effective if they have the parts but I've had to toss many sensors that needed simple repairs that were only 3 years old due to poor planning for future repair. ALTA Coin cell sensors just aren't as reliable as the Gen 1 was, battery life is worse and compared to the only slightly more expense AA they are a bad value, don't do it! AA are awesome.

My experience from beginning to end with Monnit has been great. Every question was answered, and we were even put in contact with an existing customer to ask how they like the product. My one critique would be that from sending payment to receiving our order, there was a communication blackout. We sent payment and didn't hear anything for weeks, and we emailed our rep and he took a while to respond concerning our order. We would have appreciated "status updates", and ETA's. This is a small complaint, but everything else was a great experience, and we will definitely recommend Monnit to anyone who asks.

Set-up and programming was very simple. Plug it in, add the sensors id's and passwords and it works.

ORIGINAL 2/2019 - Sensors are great; correspondence as to processes/billing/ordering are lacking... almost to the point that we want to find another company to purchase from. UPDATE 10/2021 - we have stuck with MONNIT and have seen improvement with their correspondence. We appreciate them for listening and improving their processes.

Monnit has a great product. They are very knowledgeable but support can be hard to get quickly. Very reasonably priced and have many different sensors.

Little or no problems with this product

The Monnit device gave us piece of mind knowing that a house we owned 500 miles away stayed heated. The company was also very responsive to our questions.

Brilliant products that work very well. Only qualm is how the glass vial temperature buffers mount to the fridge - I was provided with double-sided tape, which has trouble in humid environments. I suggested to Monnit that they incorporate a plastic holder that you can screw into the fridge, which holds the vial off the side wall. Supposedly they are working on something currently to solve this. Other than that, all works great, ALTA sensors have a great range (not quite the 1000ft as advertised, but we get a fair distance through buildings, etc)
