Merchant Service University (MSU) is an online education and training platform created to help new and experienced sales professionals better understand the merchant services and payment processing industry.Founded by longtime merchant services entrepreneur and sales trainer Joe Wagner, MSU was built around a simple idea: people entering the payments industry deserve access to practical education before being expected to figure everything out on live merchants. The training breaks a complicated industry into straightforward, easy-to-understand lessons covering how credit card processing works, industry terminology, pricing and merchant statements, ISOs and ISVs, modern commerce systems, prospecting, appointment setting, merchant conversations, objections, closing, residual income, portfolio building, attrition, agent agreements, and more.MSU is designed for people who are brand new to merchant services as well as active agents who want to sharpen their skills, fill gaps in their knowledge, and become more confident when working with business owners. Our philosophy is that successful merchant services professionals should strive to become more than salespeople. They should understand the industry, ask better questions, recommend solutions that genuinely fit the merchant, communicate transparently, provide ongoing value, and build relationships that last. The ultimate goal is to help sales professionals understand how to build a real merchant portfolio and recurring residual income through education, consistency, strong partnerships, and long-term service to their merchants.Merchant Service University combines lessons developed from years of real-world merchant sales, recruiting, training, and portfolio-building experience into a structured learning environment that agents can work through at their own pace.Get educated. Learn the business. Build your skills. Then decide where you want to take it.Merchant Service University — Educate. Empower. Succeed.
