Post-purchase upselling their thing.
Post-purchase upselling is certainly a common online sales practice. However, when an upsell can reasonably be misunderstood as changing an order rather than creating an entirely additional order, and the resulting purchase becomes effectively irreversible almost immediately afterward, I believe the company has an especially strong responsibility to make that distinction unmistakably clear. Instead, the sequence of my experience was: • I intentionally purchased two bottles. • I was immediately presented with a discounted three-bottle offer. • I misunderstood that as modifying my existing purchase. • I consequently purchased five bottles without realizing it. • I discovered the mistake and contacted MasterPeace within minutes of the purchase. • MasterPeace acknowledged understanding how I could have misunderstood the offer. • I offered to return the unintended products unopened. • I ultimately offered to return the entire shipping package unopened. • MasterPeace still refused any refund. That combination—not simply the existence of a no-return policy—is what I find troubling. I went back and forth with the company about the refund and feel taken advantage of, but what bothers me the most is this... The philosophy surrounding MasterPeace was what appealed to me. The messaging I heard was very much about personal sovereignty, freedom, and helping people take greater control over what enters and affects their bodies. That makes this experience particularly disappointing. A company built around those ideas should, in my view, be especially interested in ensuring that a customer feels she knowingly chose what she purchased rather than insisting she remain financially responsible for products she immediately explained she did not knowingly intend to buy. In all fairness, I have yet to receive my shipment, so can't speak on the effectiveness of the product - but fair consumer business practices are REALLY important to me - as a small business owner, thus my 1 star review.
