I use this API for a free Garmin watch application I wrote to provide tide information. Specifically I use it to get geo-coordinates from place names. It is 100% reliable and I absolutely recommend it.

Best free geocoding API. It's fast enough for my needs, and I use far fewer than the 25,000 geocoding requests per month limit. Easy to use and developer-friendly.
