I will continue to bring my knives in when and as needed. They do a great job, have very quick turnaround times, and the fee is very competitive.

They inexpensively straightened & sharpened the blade on my 9" knife. They also have a wonderful collection of kitchenware. The staff is very considerate and helpful.

I recently had some knives sharpened at Local Roots. Not only were the knives very well sharpened but they really went above and beyond to get them fine in a timely manner. They have a 48 hour turn around policy on sharpening. Unfortunately, their machine broke while my knives were due to be worked on. Jonathan actually ended up getting a former mentor to do the knives ( on a Sunday) and then emailed me promptly to let me know they were done. The whole process took only one day longer than initially promised, and Jonathan couldn't have been more professional, apologetic and attentive throughout. The prices are also very reasonable. I will not go anywhere else to have my knives sharpened.

The knife came out nice and sharp! It would be nice if they offered to mail the sharpened knives back to you, though.

Local Root has beautiful kitchen wares and the added bonus of offering knife sharpening services. You can go with the excuse of dropping off your knives and then be tempted into buying something for the kitchen. Then you get to return, pick up your knives and buy something else. It's that tempting.
