Happy to hear you found the cabin to your liking. Visit us again soon.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Laurel mountain retreats! It was near town but still secluded and the cabin was very clean and cozy! I really appreciated the complementary samples and laundry machine wash pods. Thank you so much! Would definitely come back!

Hi Jeremy and Rylee, I'm so glad you enjoyed Evergreen cabin. I hope you had a wonderful time with your friends and celebrating their wedding! Very best, Kathleen
Kathleen was very helpful and responsive to any questions we had. She made the process easy and informative. The cabin was clean and inviting. My only suggestion would be to dust a little more in hard to reach places especially for people that have allergies. Would definitely reccomend to family/friends!

Thank you for the 4 stars and kind words! I'll take a look with "fresh eyes" for any areas that we might be missing when dusting. Thank you for letting me know! I hope to see you back at Laurel Mountain Retreat!
We stayed in the Red Bird cabin. For the most part, it was very nice. My biggest issue was the bed, it was awful! Not at all comfortable! Not even sure it was a queen, seemed small but we are used to a king. The kitchen was supposed to be fully stocked. There were maybe three of everything. We ended up buying paper plate, bowls, plastic cups and utensils. Nothing to clean the rusted grill. Probably ok for a couples weekend trip but not for a family. And also didn’t have any trails near by which we were looking forward to. I wanted to reply but wasn’t able to so I figured I’d update my review. Like I said, overall the cabin was very nice. I did give it four stars! We are a small family of 3 and our daughter slept in the loft and loved it! The queen bed could use a new mattress. It’s very “springy” for lack of a better word. And the kitchen is described as fully stocked. Sure we had had enough for the three of us, if we wanted to wash dishes after each meal. We stayed in most of the time so we ate in the cabin a lot. It just wasn’t what we had expected. We still had a great stay and nothing was worth bothering anyone about.

Alisa, I'm so sorry that was your experience! What was your concern with the bed? I have not had this feedback and always want my guests to sleep well! It's a queen bed. Red bird is a small, studio style cabin with one bed, so it is generally intended for couples or possibly small children who can sleep on a futon in the loft. It is as described. I was on site during your stay and would have been able to provide extras of everything , dishes or anything for the kitchen, if you had asked. My contact information was in the cabin in a couple places. I will double check to be sure there is enough of everything for future guests. Thank you for your feedback. Alisa, Thank you for the 4 star review! Truly, I appreciate feedback so I can make improvements. I'll check out the bed too, along with the kitchen supplies. Have a great day :)
Communication with owner prior to arriving was great! The cabin was clean and well-furnished. The location in relation to Ashville and the Blueridge Parkway was perfect. The loft bedroom, without a bathroom on the high-level was a bit annoying, but was as described. The soap in the bathroom was running on empty when we arrived, but there was hand soap in the kitchen area. The front porch and sitting area was great! The cabin was not as secluded as I had hoped, but had minimal traffic and noise. I would stay there again and have already recommended it to a couple of our friends planning a vacation to the Ashville area.

Looking forward to our next visit to Laurel Mountain Retreat. Our cabin had everything needed for a great stay. All we needed was food and clothes. The property had a Keurig style coffee maker, full size fridge with freezer on top, a microwave, a stove, and dishwasher. The bathroom includes a shower/tub combo, and all the towels, soap, toilet paper, and shampoo you'll need. The grill is located by the back porch and is the type you would find at a campground. The property is located within a few minutes of shopping and restaurants, and it's just a short drive to hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, etc. The outside porches are great places to relax in the rockers or swing. We didn't try the hot tub, but it looked very inviting. The owner of the property (Kathleen) is extremely accommodating and wanted us to have the best stay possible. Yes the cabins are fairly close together, but even though we had neighbors on both sides of our cabin we never heard a sound. Our granddaughters thought they were in heaven and the washer and dryer allowed us to wash clothes throughout our stay which kept us from over-packing and left us with no clothes to wash after our long drive home. So why four and not five stars? We found the mattresses too soft, and having a larger sofa or recliner in the upstairs family area would have been nice. With that said we've already started thinking about our next visit to this wonderful property. You really can't go wrong staying here.

Hi Brian, Thank you for your very thoughtful review. I appreciate it and I loved all your descriptions! Comfortable beds are very important and, again, I take comments from guests seriously. The bed in the room without a door to the outside, had a foam mattress topper to make it softer. I talked it over with a friend and decided to take that topper off. That will give guests the option of a more firm bed if that is what they like. The larger sofa will have to wait until the one I have needs replacing, but I will take your ideas into account when I replace it. Please come back to Laurel Mountain Retreat soon! Kathleen
We had a great time at Elk Path cabin. I would have given 5 stars, but there was some dust along the ceiling and wall in the main bedroom, and top of lamp shade that got my allergies going. Otherwise was perfect for us and our 2 fur babies. Thanks for a lovely time.
