Extremely Disappointing Experience
Extremely Disappointing Experience: Questionable Food Quality and a Refund Nightmare I ordered JustFoodForDogs Hepatic Support food for my senior dog in early September, hoping to provide her with a healthier diet to support her liver. Unfortunately, this has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a pet food company. After starting this diet, I took my dog to the veterinarian for bloodwork, and I was absolutely shocked to discover that her liver enzymes had nearly tripled! They skyrocketed, which was extremely concerning given her existing liver condition. After discontinuing this food, her liver enzymes dropped by almost 400 points. To make matters worse, the second batch of food I received had a very unpleasant, unusual odor. The moment I opened the package, I could tell something smelled wrong. When I placed the food in my dog’s bowl, she literally walked away and refused to eat it. That alone raised serious concerns about the quality and consistency of their product. Now let’s talk about the customer service nightmare. I spent $282.42 on this food and requested a refund. I was repeatedly told it would take 5–7 business days. Those days came and went with no refund. After countless emails and follow-ups, nearly two weeks later, I was informed there had been an issue on their backend and that the refund had finally been processed correctly. When the refund eventually arrived, it was almost $49 short! How do you issue a refund and somehow fail to refund the full amount? I contacted them AGAIN, and once again received an apology and another promise that the remaining balance would be refunded within 5–7 business days. That was on October 14. Today is October 21, and I still have not received the remaining money. On October 20, I called and spoke with a representative who told me the refund had actually been issued on October 19. So which is it? Was it issued on October 14 or October 19? Why am I receiving conflicting information? At this point, I have exchanged approximately 50 emails with this company and spent nearly a month chasing a refund that should have been straightforward. The amount of time, frustration, and effort required to recover my own money is absolutely ridiculous. As a devoted pet parent, I trusted this company with my senior dog’s health, and that trust has been completely shattered. Between the alarming changes in her liver enzymes, the questionable quality of the second batch, her refusal to eat it, and the endless refund problems, I am beyond disappointed. For a company that markets itself around the health and well-being of our pets, I expected far better product quality, accountability, and customer service. I would not recommend JustFoodForDogs based on my experience. What should have been a positive investment in my dog’s health turned into weeks of worry, frustration, and unnecessary stress.
