I have to start with how easy and smooth my newly assigned agent got me through the whole process. He was extremely knowledgeable and helped me get the coverage I needed and not the unnecessary plans. He found me several discounts and the ending monthly premium was inexpensive. He worked with me after normal hours so I wouldn't have to miss work. I went through a State Farm run by Tod Nelson but all the credit needs to go with David the agent who helped me and went above and beyond...

On March 10th I filed a claim with State Farm for rain leaking into our entry for the deck above. I was finally contacted on March 27th by the adjustor and scheduled an appointment this morning. Unfortunately, he had a family emergency and had to cancel. He suggested I upload as many detailed photos (I had already upload photos with the estimate for repairs in March) along with a narrative. So I did. I decided to call my State Farm Agent, John Luithly’s office in Irvine. The individual I believe whose name is Honey answered and I explained that I wanted to see when an adjustor would be coming as we are starting construction tomorrow. She said, “We are just the agent and not the claims department.” It was upsetting to hear this. I have had my insurance with State Farm for over 40 years. I have only filed one claim in the 40 years – about 30 years ago. While I understand that she may not know exactly about the claim, the lack of assistance and support was astounding. She talked over me, and it went downhill from there. I’ll end with this: Be forewarned – I’m sure there are better Insurance companies and at least agents that know what it means to service their clients. It’s so disappointing.
