As an eighth grader who learns pretty fast, I-Ready should be banned. This website gives you a diagnostic to asses your skills, and the lessons are based off of what score you get on the diagnostic. This sounds good on paper but it is executed horribly. The diagnostic is long and boring, and the lessons is a whole other story. The lessons give you three wrong answers before you have to restart the lesson with no guidance whatsoever other than the simple instructions from the first time, and it does not focus on what you got wrong and why. Some students learn faster than others and some students learn slower, I am the group that learns faster and these are a genuine nightmare. Having to sit through long boring lessons that don't actually explain what you need to improve on does not actually teach you anything. The lessons are useless and don't actually teach you anything. I-Ready is just an excuse for teachers to occupy you, it does not benefit students in any way.
