I subscribed to InsideOptions in 2025…
I subscribed to InsideOptions in 2025 encourage by an article written in Wall Street touting David Chau as Captain IronCondor. I believe WSJ article did not do a good job of emphasizing the gambling aspect of the service. I did not realize I had signed up a discredited Martingale gambling strategy. Their sales person painted such a rosy picture. As soon as I realized that I had unintentionally signed up for a gambling strategy system and started to lose money following their recommended trades, I asked for a refund. Of course David Chau declined my request since since I had not followed all of the recommended trades…The strategy required me to double/triple up my stakes after each losing trade until I make up all my losses or lose all of my capital and more. That is not what I understood the game to be. During the Christmas debacle when many of the subscribers lost a boatload of money, I started to talk about their losing strategy on their site making other subscribers understand the risk they are taking with their capital if they continue to play the game. Some subscribers contacted me directly and I was saddened to see how naive they were in the world of investing. They were clueless. Seeing that I was writing negatively on their site questioning their strategy, David Chau’s team kicked me off their site and finally agreed to refund my subscription fee of $5,500; it took them longer than what would be reasonable to issue the refund. My net loss of capital is all that I was left with. While I can say it was my fault for not fully understanding what I was signing up for, but WSJ should not have provided such glowing coverage for a gambling strategy. I contacted WSJ reporter who wrote the article to do a followup article to warn their readers of pitfalls of the service. The reporter suggested that there would be a follow up but I have not any come through yet. The moral of the story is do your homework. If you are a gambler, go to a gambling den knowing fully well that you may lose it all if your binary bets don’t pan out. Good luck!
