Thank you for your feedback! This is Michael Koetting, Managing Principal for Heritage Associates, and I’m truly sorry to hear that you’ve felt frustrated with the cancellation process—handling these requests promptly is as important to us as processing claims on the hardest of days. Please know we absolutely stand by our money-back guarantee (free look period) and want to quickly resolve your frustration. I did confirm that your cancellation request was processed on August 11, 2025 (5 days ago when we last spoke with you), and Lincoln Heritage Life Insurance Company has already sent the cancellation form via USPS mail per your request. Physical mail typically takes 1–2 weeks to arrive (this weekend is still probably too soon to expect delivery), but if you’d prefer to complete the process more quickly, you also have the option to upload your cancellation directly through Lincoln Heritage’s policyholder portal at https://service.lhlic.com. Our team, including Jamie, made several attempts to connect you directly with me so I could personally help expedite the process; unfortunately, you hung up before we could assist you further. Please know that I remain available and more than willing to assist you directly to make sure everything is resolved as quickly as possible. We sincerely value the trust you placed in us and want to ensure this process is completed smoothly for you. I will attempt to contact you directly again when Lincoln Heritage's offices open on Monday to help walk you through the online process for expediting your cancellation request.

There appears to be some misunderstanding. We received your application for coverage and weren't able to issue the coverage you requested because the initial premium payment was declined by your financial institution. Our efforts to contact you were not intended as harassment but rather a sincere effort to resolve the payment issue preventing your coverage from being issued. We attempted the initial premium payment on June 7 as you requested, but the payment declined. We were not notified by your financial institution of the declination until several days later, which is when we first contacted you via text message. We attempted approximately one outreach per week in an effort to resolve the issue with you, including only two phone calls and corresponding voicemails over a month long period. We also mailed a letter notifying you of the declined payment and our inability to proceed in issuing coverage. All of our efforts were made in an attempt to honor your original application for coverage. In a text message reply you sent to us, you seemed to think that we did not attempt the payment on June 7 as you originally requested, but you never responded to our efforts to clarify that that payment was actually attempted exactly as you requested on June 7. Instead of outright declining you application, we were hoping to assist you in rescheduling the initial payment so that we could continue to hold your application pre-approval. We certainly did not want you to miss the opportunity for coverage over a payment issue. We will absolutely honor your request to cancel the application for coverage and cease additional outreach. Hopefully, you can understand how confused we too feel by this outcome. Nonetheless, we understand your frustration, especially given the misunderstandings involved, but we would still very much like the opportunity to serve you and your loved ones if given the opportunity in the future! Feel free to call us at (512) 648-6400.

Updated on July 17, 2023: All of the concerns here with Lincoln Heritage were completely valid and your frustration was absolutely warranted. You made what should have been a simple request. You requested to move your recurring payment date to the 25th of each month, and the Service advisor at Lincoln Heritage incorrectly changed the recurring payment date to the 5th of each month instead of the 25th beginning in July. This was an unacceptable error. Thank you for working with Michael and our agency, Heritage Associates. Your earnestness and cooperation enabled us to coordinate with Lincoln Heritage directly to call attention to the error and have Lincoln Heritage overnight you a refund check. We can't apologize enough for this situation and appreciate your graciousness and responsiveness in reversing the error! In the future, don't hesitate to give us a call at (651) 691-7058. Our office is always happy to process requests on your behalf with Lincoln Heritage to ensure your family has the confidence of being cared for by the team who has been with you since your coverage started!
