In 1920, Henig Furs opened in New York City. Max Henig emigrated from Romania three years earlier and brought to Americas his expertise in fur manufacturing, a skill he learned from his father in Europe. Max sewed every fur by hand, a traditional passed down to his son, John Henig Sr., who joined the family business.During World War II, John was stationed in Fort Benning, Ga., where he met and fell in love with a young lady from Florala, Alabama. She preferred to be near her Southern roots, so rather than bring his new wife north; John decided to bring his father’s fur trade South and opened the fur department at Montgomery Fair. This began what would become the largest fur company in the Southeast and one of the biggest in the nation. In 1950, the Henig label made its debut at Miller’s Fashion Specialty stores and was also associated with Danziger’s. Additionally, John traveled the Southeast unveiling the latest furs at trunk shows. In 1977, his son Mike, the fourth generation of Henig furriers, became a partner, and the two expanded the business through wholesale manufacturing and leased departments in stores across the country. They also began opening their own stores and today have more than 30 locations throughout the Southeast, including salons in Belk’s department stores where there is continued expansion. From fashionable Mink, Beaver and Fox, to the finest Canadian Lynx, Chinchilla and Russian Sable, Henig offers a wide selection. The 32,000 square foot corporate headquarters in Montgomery is where Henig maintains its main showroom and vault. The company has also adapted to the preferences of modern customers. The business of selling furs, once considered a luxury item, has expanded to include casual furs, leather, cashmere and outerwear that appeal to juniors, misses, men and even children.Advertising, online shopping at henigfurs.com, fur factories all over the world, and the addition of two to four locations each year have made Henig a household name.Howeve

It looked so much longer in the picture. I'm tall and it's just too short.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! We're sorry to hear that you're not happy with the fit of the vest you received. You're welcome to send the fur back for exchange or return, using the included FedEx return shipping label. Let us know if you need help with anything else.
I placed my order. After several weeks passing, I called to learn that my payment was accepted though my order not received. The gentleman who ultimately handled my issue was nice and assured me my order would be shipped the next day. That did not happened and I called again. The gloves were finally shipped. Once I received them, though nice, they were not as expected. I ordered long gloves (according to the photo) with mink trim, but told (with another call) that was the correct length. In the end, I kept the gloves as they were a Christmas present for someone and, with the delay, I had run short on time. I told myself the sale price was my ‘prize’—then they went on sale even more the following week. Ha—what an experience!

Sorry to hear that, April! Sometimes rabbit fur does shed more than others. We'll look into your order and see which product you purchased so we can resolve this issue in the future. Thank you!

We plan to add more items to our men's category! Most of the items we currently have for men are custom made to order so it does cause a delay. Thanks for your feedback - hopefully we can improve in both those areas soon!
I emailed Henig about an issue and it has been 4 days with no reply. Where is customer service.

Hello, We strive to respond to all customer service emails. If yours was missed, we deeply apologize for that. I would love to help you if you could provide your name and order number please? Thanks!
The fur vest is beautiful. However, I feel that it has not been stored or “moisturized”. Properly. It has been shedding terribly. I have another lynx coat an my first one doesn’t shed at all.

Donna, this doesn't sound like something we would do at all! We definitely want to resolve this issue. Would you want us to do an exchange for this vest? Please give us a call at (334) 277-7610 and we will help!
I have ordered 2 coats. Both beautiful. However the first experience, they sent me the wrong coat. But I loved it and decided to keep it. Both pockets were torn and I didn't realize it until a few weeks later when I wore it. My experience with the people at the store was ok but not the best. They offered to fix the pockets but I would have to ship it back etc. Between the ripped pockets and wrong coat I was a little disappointed. Luckily the beauty of the coat at that cost caused me to buy further. The coats they offer are beautiful.

Hi! I'm glad you love the coat, but equally disappointed that we made a mistake. Did you try calling our corporate office at (334) 277-7610 before taking it to the store? We're glad you were happy in the end, but if we need to resolve any issues or make any repairs, please give us a call! Thank you, Henig Furs
