To clarify, refunds can only be issued back to the original form of payment per Visa and payment-processor regulations. When a Visa gift card is used, any refund—full or partial—is automatically returned to that same card, even if the card has been discarded. Unfortunately, merchants do not have the ability to redirect funds to a different card or payment method once a transaction has been processed.
