Legacy (Give Legacy, Inc.) is a US male fertility company that offers at-home sperm testing and sperm freezing through mail-in kits. Its services include semen analysis, post-vasectomy semen testing, sperm DNA fragmentation testing and long-term sperm freezing (cryopreservation). How it works: A client orders a kit online, collects a sample at home and ships it to Legacy’s lab. Samples reach analysis in 21 hours on average, about 30% faster than other mail-in sperm testing providers, meaning we receive your best possible sample. Results are ready within 2 business days in a physician-reviewed report with recommendations for improving sperm health. Legacy is available in all 50 states, pricing starts at $145, and clients can pay with HSA or FSA funds.Sperm storage: Legacy stores frozen sperm for up to 25 years. Legacy is the only company that stores each client’s frozen samples across multiple sites, so a problem at one facility cannot wipe out a client’s entire deposit.Accuracy: Legacy’s mail-in kit is clinically validated. In a study published in the American Journal of Men’s Health in 2025, Legacy’s researchers showed that results from samples analyzed after shipping accurately predict the values of a fresh sample. Legacy’s lab adjusts results for the decline in sperm motility that occurs during shipping, using a predictive algorithm that accounts for how motility drops over time. The lab measures semen volume, sperm concentration, motility and morphology with a computer-assisted semen analysis (CASA) system.Sperm DNA fragmentation is measured with the Halosperm sperm chromatin dispersion (SCD) test, which Legacy validated for mail-in samples and presented at the ASRM Scientific Congress in 2022. Legacy offers the only validated mail-in sperm DNA fragmentation test in the US, and its researchers have published several peer-reviewed studies on mail-in semen testing.Lab and licensing: Legacy runs its own andrology lab in Hoboken, New Jersey, CLIA-certified for high-com

The kit arrived earlier than expected and was clear in the instructions. We returned the sample from California on a Thursday, not expecting an immediate response. In fact, the next day, Friday, we received an email that the sample had been received and were told it would be 48 hours to get the email with the results. The results email came that day!!! Yes!!
