Great experience using GetMyBoat to book my last adventure. Searching for a rental, sending an inquiry and booking the rental was simple and straight forward. I will definitely use GetMyBoat to book my next boat rental.

Great app and service. Very easy to find a boat in the water that we are staying near. The boat owners have always been quick to answer questions and get custom requests accomplished.

Rented boat for 2 hours in Chicago through getmyboat. Everything went well until the boat’s engine wouldn’t start and we couldn’t cruise at all. Getmyboat didn’t issue refund. “We’re not responsible”. I’ll never rent through them again.

I have to concur with other reviews on Trustpilot, Getmyboat.com is not a reputable company who protects the customer in addition to their boat renters. You as a customer have no recourse against maltreatment and unethical business practices from their renters. You even have to agree to hold Getmyboat.com entirely harmless for any and all improprieties perpetrated by their renters. I tried renting a 19 foot power boat in San Diego for my girlfriend's birthday, from an owner by the name of "Max A". I was told if I canceled less than 3 days in advance, I would receive no refund of the nearly $400.00 I placed on my credit card. On the day we were supposed to leave, Max abruptly canceled, less than 2 hours before our agreed upon meeting! He gave a very poor, dubious excuse for canceling, and I was given no other recourse than having to try to rent another boat from a local shop at the last minute, which cost $!00 more than what I was paying him. Contacting customer support was of no help, nor was I even able to leave a review of my experience. Thus the boat owner was fully protected by the company, not even his full name or contact details were provided if I wanted to pursue legal options on my own, and I was given no other consideration besides offering me a refund of my payment. When a reputable company, such as an airline cancels at the last minute, they offer something in return, such as travel vouchers for discounts on future travel. Cancellation agreements should be wtitten to protect both parties, especially if one party is going to be charged for almost any reason they have to cancel their reservation. Getmyboat.com makes customers sign an agreement where their company accepts zero responsibility for any negative conduct or negative rental experience a customer has... Therefore I highly recommend using a reputable company for something as expensive as a boat rental, which are often booked by customers for a special occasion.

Dr.Ackerman, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re genuinely sorry for the frustration and disappointment caused by this reservation, especially given that it was for a special occasion. You’re correct that this trip, which took place in 2023, was canceled at the last minute by the boat owner. We fully recognize that the impact of a same-day cancellation is significant. At the time, our Customer Support team did attempt to reach out to offer assistance in securing an alternative boat, but unfortunately, we were unable to connect with you. We also acknowledge that we fell short by not following up beyond that initial attempt, and for that, we take responsibility. Since this incident, we have made meaningful changes to our customer experience processes and to how we onboard and manage boat owners. These improvements include stricter owner standards, enhanced monitoring of cancellations and responsiveness, and stronger internal follow-up procedures when disruptions occur. Importantly, the boat owner responsible for this experience has been permanently removed from the platform. While we facilitate connections between renters and independent boat owners, we do not take negative experiences lightly. Our goal is to protect renters while holding owners accountable for their conduct. Our support team has since made efforts to connect with you directly to help address this matter, and we remain open to continuing that conversation. We appreciate your feedback, as it has helped shape improvements that better protect our customers today. Getmyboat Customer Support
I had an unfavorable experience with this company. The boat I rented was in poor condition — old, dirty, and it even broke down during our trip. Boat lost steering due to leaking hydraulic fluid almost coming and accident. When I approached them about a refund, it was denied due to the owner's disapproval. If you're considering renting, I'd advise looking elsewhere for a more reliable and customer-centric service.

I was informed that the boat I booked was in repair one day before the trip. The owner offered a smaller boat at a reduced price, $400 instead of $600, which I accepted. The $200 difference was refunded. However, GetMyBoat refused to reduce the booking fee, which at 7.5% should be $30 instead of $45. After the initial review was posted, GetMyBoat did adjust the booking fee.

I paid in full months prior and John Valentio (Captain) ( Valentio CHICAGO BOATS OWNER Canceled via text at 10:00P.M 5 days before my booking. Due to "overbooked/Overlap" WORST EXPERENICE EVER. DONT EVER BOOK WITH HIM. He over books to see who will offer him more money and then takes the higher offer and cancels last min. This whole company needs to be shut down.
