Looks good on paper but horrible in execution. No workflow. No proper javascript templates. Convoluted forms which lacks basic flexibility. Along with the platform , need to hire fulltime react and javascript developers who also need to understand the mess of the platform. Poor man's version of powerautomate and extremely long sales process. Not good for enterprise customers .

Form.io is the best thing that has happened to us, a small research team building our own forms to collect research electronic data.

Disappointed!

Poorly planned. The upgrade to v7 have broken our projects as the upgrade changes the defaults. We had bad nights fixing the issues they resulted in. The forms generate too much nested DOMs. Not recommended if you care for pergormance, reliability and security.

When reporting a security issue raised by trying to run the Open Source version of the platform on GitHub, the company was very quick to get in touch to encourage using their commercial product which supposedly had the issue resolved, but showed no interest in quickly deploying the security update to the Open Source version. An apparent lack of concern for security or developer usability in the Open Source Software platform means I am unlikely to build on this platform as it seems they are more focused on locking you into their commercial offering than in providing paid support for a platform that you will have confidence in for the long term or even getting started with a secure Open Source version to try it out from a developer experience perspective. It seems like the company is made up of good people, and the product has good potential, if they just dealt with this sort of issue better.

Response from Form.io· Jul 21, 2022
Dear concerned - We regret to read about your perceptions of our company. Form.io serves companies all over the world, and in every business vertical, including government agencies, healthcare, banking and financial services, insurance, legal, and many others, all of whom have serious data security and compliance requirements. In fact, that is what what makes us who we are. We are not a simple lighthearted form-building platform solution. Rather, we are a serious and credible strategic technology platform for building enterprise class form-centric, business process applications. It's what we do every day. As a result, we take data security very seriously, and we invest heavily in resources that are dedicated to no other task than to address any security concerns that may exist. Apparently, we didn't convey that to you very well, and we regret not doing so. Please know that we consider data security as one of our highest priorities. Perhaps we didn't understand the significance of the item you may have raised. Sincerely, Form.io Management
