Had a poor customer service experience while trying to get help with my new guitar.

I ordered two artist series guitars made in Mexico and they were wired wrong....had to send them back to get another one....pretty frustrating and time consuming

The Mod Shop process is excellent and very neat for someone like me that wants to "tweak" a production model exactly what you want. Overall I am happy with the process and the assembly / delivery was very fast. The guitar arrived well before the estimated delivery date and the email communications / tracking were great. My only issue is the guitar arrived in the wrong color... Now Fender has been great. They acknowledged the mistake and promise to make it right BUT I have to wait until after the new year as the factory is shut down for the holidays. It was a genuine mistake and I am glad eventually I will get the guitar I ordered but I will have to wait another month just to send it back and wait however long it takes to replace / rebuild the guitar with the correct color body. Its not the worse case scenario but I am disappointed to have to go through all this for a special order guitar.

Ordered Fender 57 Trem arm. I like the one on my new 57 Vintage II strat so much I ordered one for my 2004 Deluxe. The threaded end is too short which makes it impossible to thread into the block. Furthermore the opposite end is not bent at the upward angle that the new 57 V2 is equipped with. Nevertheless both guitars are outstanding for their playability and sonic pallet. It’s always been Fender for me.

Less than a week after my purchase a pretty huge sale started. Since my purchase was very expensive and it took months of saving I emailed customer service to see if there was any way I can get some of that savings. I had ordered a mod shop guitar and it wasn't even being worked on at this point. I was simply told no with no reasoning.

I bought a set of Fender Deluxe Drive pickups for a Squier Affinity Telecaster and was excited to get them installed. Fender, in their infinite wisdom, sent flat head screws to attach the bridge pickup to the bridge plate. The bottom of the pickup is plastic and it was terribly difficult to get the flat head screws started into the plastic holes, I wrestled and wrestled with just starting the screws for probably 30 minutes, ending scratching my perfect paint job, it would have been infinitely easier to get them started if it had been Phillips head screws with a slight point on the end. This is not 1952... why would anyone in 2025 want to mess with flat head screws if they are not working on a vintage replica? Vastly inferior technology. And why couldn't Fender include both flat and Phillips head screws? Not only that but they only provided screws to body mount the neck pickup, mine is pick guard mounted, I own several Fender Telecasters and none of them have body mounted neck pickups. I have around 60 guitars and have lots of experience installing aftermarket pickups in Strats and Teles, DiMarzio, Seymour Duncan, etc.. in far less time without any issues whatsoever. I would think that most people buying these are upgrading their Squier or Fender made in Mexico or made in China guitars, they are unlikely to choose these higher output pickups to replace ones in a vintage guitar or to put in a vintage reissue style guitar. After finally getting them installed the pickups do sound good, but I am unlikely to buy Fender aftermarket pickups again because they obviously don't care about ease of installation for their customers.
