Rude Rude Rude! This is the Frontier of Medication Management. I get a call from these clowns, they leave a message for a return call. I call them back (Unsure of who they are) since I fill my scripts at WalMart. Right out of the gate, they want my name and DOB. I ask who they are, the deadbeat on the other end sais "YOU CALLED US", I said Im calling YOU BACK, YOU CALL ME" She than sais "But you called us". I said I am not giving you ANY personal information if I dont know who you are. She than AGAIN said, YOU CALLED US. I said THIS CALL IS OVER and hung up.

No compassion!
Over the past few weeks, I've learned how important it is to understand how your mail-order pharmacy handles accounts.
My doctor has prescribed life-saving blood pressure medication, heart medication, and diabetes medication. After recently suffering a heart attack, these medications are essential to my health.
I spoke with a representative at Express Scripts named Raven, who told me my doctor could not submit my prescriptions because my account was restricted due to a $40 balance. However, when I logged into my account, it showed a zero balance. I explained that I recently had a heart attack and haven't been able to work, so I simply don't have the money right now. I was told I needed to pay the bill before I could receive my medications, even though more than half of them are provided at no cost.
As a 100% totally disabled veteran, I hoped for a little more understanding and compassion. My purpose in sharing this isn't to attack anyone personally, but to encourage others to stay on top of their mail-order pharmacy accounts and understand how these situations can affect access to critical medications.
No one should have to worry about being unable to receive life-saving medication because of an account issue.

Worst PharmacyI
It is absolutely impossible to understand why New York City has chosen Express Scripts to be the pharmacy provider for their employees and retirees....Express Scripts is simply the worst pharmacy ever. I put in a renewal prescription which was rejected twice before it was approved and required multiple letters and phone calls from my doctor for approval, even though I have been on this drug for five years...Now I am waiting another week for the prescription to arrive. Their agents are totally incompetent and are a waste of time to contact. Express Scripts is the WORST pharmacy and should be removed as providers by New York's Department of Health.

If you have the option use another prescription insurance
I’ve been taking a generic eye drop for years it is not expensive. Express Scripts just denied a refill because I didn’t try two other eye drops prior to it. Both are contraindicated for my condition but Express Scripts doesn’t care. They’re all about profits…their rep on the phone was very nice but has a really terrible job.

Hope you don't actually need your medication on time.
Medication was ordered a month ahead, with a fill date of the 14th. By the 16th, my provider had already called to follow up. By the 17th, I was out of my medication, which I cannot function without. With no word from Express Scripts, my provider sent it in to a local pharmacy instead. They refused to fill as Express had already run it through my insurance.
They didn't ship until the 19th and used the slowest possible shipping. Today is the 27th and I literally just received it. In the 11 days I've been out, I have almost burned my house down, ruined cookware I've had for years, missed four days of work using up all my PTO, made massive mistakes the days I was at work which would have been job-ending if I didn't have five years of tenure and a reputation of usually being extremely reliable, damaged my vehicle, and missed some expensive deadlines. It's a controlled substance, so even if I could afford to fill it out of pocket, I wouldn't have been able to do so.
To add insult to injury, they filled another controlled med while I was waiting that isn't actually needed for another few weeks, and ups left it at my door without a knock or signature. Also, they only filled 60 days instead of the promised 90 which is what convinced me to try them in the first place. They were also a few days late on another medication, but thankfully I was able to get a week of that one locally to bridge the gap, as it controls persistent destructive intrusive thoughts and being without it for more than a day or two would be catastrophic.
So thanks, Express Scripts. That was an expensive reminder of how disabled I actually am. I've spent years finding a routine and medication that allow me to work full time and care for myself without extensive support, and I almost lost everything I've worked for when Express failed to do their one job. As it is, I'm going to be cleaning this mess up for months. Never touching this dumpster fire of a "pharmacy" again. I recommend you don't either.

This company will cost you unnecessary…
This company will cost you unnecessary money. Medicine was not working so doctor prescribed something different and express script would not authorize. I’ve been buying medicine that doesn’t work for 3 months

Absolutely HORRIBLE
Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. I have spent three days tracking down the medication I must have because express scripts said they did not have anymore but would cover it if I found it at a local pharmacy. I found it and was so relieved, only to be told the medication is not covered for more than 30 days. So now every three days I get to spend a week calling around, and having my relatives send pills from across the country because express scripts won't cover my meds. Insane. How is this even allowed? Dreadful.

I regret switching to Express Scripts!
I switched to Express Scripts after being encouraged to do so, but my experience has been extremely disappointing.
I take a prescribed medication that requires a new electronic prescription if it needs to be sent to a different pharmacy. I was told that Express Scripts would provide advance notice if they stopped carrying my medication. Instead, I was informed on July 15 that they had stopped stocking it effective July 1—two weeks after the change had already taken place! Another thing that frustrates me-customer service with express scripts ( who is also my insurance for scripts) encouraged me to switch to them bc they cover my medication. They wouldn’t cover it at the pharmacy I was using before the switch. This was in JUNE. That means they either encouraged me to switch to them, knowing they would no longer carry the medication a month later…..or they didn’t actually give a 30 day notice like they promised.
Because of this, I was left scrambling to find a new pharmacy and had to reach out to my provider to have the script resent. It can’t be transferred. My provider is on vacation until the end of the month so now I will go without for over a week. This created unnecessary stress- even though the situation could have been avoided with timely communication.
This wasn't the only issue I experienced while using Express Scripts, and unfortunately it has been one problem after another since switching. Patients rely on accurate information and timely communication to manage their medications. I hope Express Scripts improves its communication so others don't have to go through the same experience.
