I generally loved this product even after the change to the subscription model, however after upgrading my subscription from the legacy subscription to the new one I somehow ended up paying for both. I reached out to inquire about this and was told I wasn’t so I let it go and ended up being charged 2 times more. Customer service was entirely unhelpful when contacting them again and basically said there was nothing they could do and it was my fault as I must have started the second subscription on the different email myself, even though i am 100% sure I did not.

Longtime user of Scribd/Everand but it has gone down the pan. To get a response from customer service (following chat it reception)takes up to 48 hours !!!! Used up my one 'unlock' downloading Shakespeare's complete works in audiobook. It was 19 minutes long!! New system is useless. Probably designed by a hedge fund. Will be cancelling.

After several years with a subscription with Scribd, Everand and some other platform, I am canceling my subscription. Such tiers plans is gouging on top of the regular monthly subscription. That's $24 bucks a month times 12. $288 annually. I can find better deals outside the platform. I just purchased a premium text for $5.00 - with Everand, I would had to pay $12 for it. Highly disappointment. I expect increases in subscription over time, as expenses do occur. This tier is a leap for mankind as I must now bounce off the rocket.

I’ve been a scribed/Everand user for years. I’ve always loved this platform until recently. I’m an avid reader and almost always finish several books a month. The new upgraded subscription model is ridiculous. I run out of the ability to unlock titles way too quickly in the month and cannot find enough of the unlimited content that I actually want to read. I’ll be canceling my subscription.

Was a long time subscriber and recommended it all the time, but finally cancelled over their new structure. Whoever designed this new service hates readers and doesn’t understand the reading experience. I was about one third of the way through a very long book when suddenly, i kid you not, mid-sentence the book disappeared and was replaced with a message it would be available again in three weeks. lol. That was it for me and cannot recommend for any book reader who wants to be treated with respect. Plenty of other options - dont waste your money.

Honestly, what is the point in subscribing and paying 20+ dollars a month for 3 unlocks that should be in the unlimited section, I was a legacy user and they changed me over without my consent. This is absolute bs I will be cancelling, and for everyone else don't even bother subscribing, just use audible or something, at least they're reputable.

Scribd has overcharged me for several years due to internal billing errors and refuses to issue a refund, despite acknowledging the mistake. Instead, they offered me six months of free service which is something I do not want or consider fair. I have calculated that I was overcharged by at least $138.21 CAD, and I am requesting that Scribd reimburse me this amount. Eventually, without any changes from my side, Scribd began charging me in EUR, even though my billing information remained Canadian. From November 2019 to February 2020, I was charged in EUR. From March 2020 to April 2022, I was charged in USD. From May 2022 to 2025, I was charged in EUR. Throughout this period, I never changed my location or billing location (it always remained the same), and had no reason to expect these unauthorised currency switches. I contacted Scribd’s customer support multiple times. Eventually, a support representative acknowledged that the problem was caused by an internal error. When I asked for a refund, they said they were "unable to issue partial refunds" and offered me six months of free service instead, which I explicitly declined. I repeatedly requested escalation to someone with refund authority but they insisted there was no one with the ability to approve a reimbursement. How can a company overcharge you and not be able to send your money back? Absolute scam!

Had to spend 2 hours jumping through hoops to cancel my free trial even though they kept reminding me I could cancel at anytime terrible support and made it as difficult and awkward as possible
