Hi Nagarajan, thank you for the thoughtful review! We're glad the flexibility of picking and tailoring assessments (logical reasoning, psychometric, technical) worked well for your hiring process. Thanks again for choosing Equip!
Simple and effective candidate testing
The service is reasonably priced and useful for evaluating job candidates before hiring. It does what we need it to do without being unnecessarily complicated. Overall, a practical tool that delivers good value for the price.

Thank you, Alexander. Staying uncomplicated gets harder every time a product adds something, so "not unnecessarily complicated" is close to the best thing we could hope to hear.
Glad it's doing the job for your hiring.

Cost-effective assessment solution
My experience with Equip.co, particularly with the assessment feature, has been very good. The platform offers features that are comparable to those available in other well-known, higher-priced assessment tools.
One of the biggest advantages is the pricing. At around $1 per assignment, compared with the significantly higher cost of other platforms, Equip.co offers very good value for money and is definitely worth considering for a subscription.
I have not used the ATS features, as we already have an internal global platform for our recruitment process. Therefore, my feedback is primarily based on my experience with the assessment capabilities.
I also really appreciated the support provided by the Equip team. They were responsive and did a good job of explaining the features and the methodology behind the assessments, which made it easier to understand and use the platform effectively.
Overall, based on my experience, I would recommend Equip.co, especially for organizations looking for a cost-effective assessment solution with good features and strong customer support.

Thank you, Shreekanth. This is lovely to read.
The bit about our team explaining the methodology behind the assessments genuinely made our day. We'd rather you understand why a test is built the way it is than just trust the score, so it's good to know that came through.
Totally fair on the ATS. If your internal platform ever changes shape, we're around. Either way, glad the assessments are pulling their weight for you.

The best free ATS I've found for a small business running serious hiring
I run a 40-person SME in Dubai and we're currently hiring across four roles simultaneously — finance, HR, sales, and an intern. Managing that volume without a dedicated recruiter is brutal, and Equip.co has genuinely made it workable.
The free ATS is the starting point, but what's kept me on the platform is the AI interview feature. It runs structured, consistent candidate screens without me being in the room, and the output is actually usable — not just a transcript dump. For a founder who was personally bottlenecking every hire, this changed the workflow meaningfully.
The chat support deserves a specific mention. Every time I've hit a wall — whether it was a configuration question or something more nuanced about how the screening logic works — the team has responded fast and actually resolved the issue. Not deflected, not pointed me to a help article. Resolved it.
There are a few areas I'd like to see improved — mainly around customisation of the additional requirements fields in job listings, and some UX friction when managing multiple active roles at once. But when I raised these directly with the team, the response was constructive and they're clearly iterating.
If you're a small business trying to run a credible, structured hiring process without an HR department, this is the tool. The pricing is fair, the AI layer is genuinely useful, and the team is responsive. Hard to ask for more at this stage.

Hi Amrit, this genuinely made our day. Thank you for taking the time to write something this thoughtful.
Hiring for multiple roles at once, across tech and non-tech functions, is exactly the situation we built Equip for, so hearing it's made that workable (and that the AI interviews are giving you usable output and not just a transcript dump) is the best kind of feedback we can get.
And the improvements you flagged, customisation of the additional requirements fields and the friction around juggling multiple active roles, I've passed both straight to the product team. They're real and they're on the radar, so hopefully you'll see them get smoother over the next while.
Really grateful to have you on the platform. If anything else comes up, you know where to find us.
DO NOT USE!!
I was sent here to do an assessment for a job. Their AI is very invasive the way they watch you through your camera and watch your computer screen already. Their site is extremely glitchy, and I was prompted to record a video in which their video recording system wasn't working. I contacted their support, and they didn't get back to me for SIX DAYS. If you know this job market, by that time I've already lost my opportunity. Their "customer service", Rachel and Ray in particular, is unprofessional, rude, and they don't listen to your issues. They don't have a single clue what they are doing and they just expect AI to do all their work for them. Companies, please just do your own work and stop relying on AI.

Hey Kaitlyn, like we mentioned on chat, we are terribly sorry that we didn't respond to you when you first reached out with the error you are facing. A delayed response for a critical function like a job opening is unacceptable, and we apologize that it occurred. We are taking steps to ensure it doesn't happen again. This is also why Rachel offered to coordinate with your recruiter directly, and tell them to consider your application even if it was delayed, as we hadn't gotten back to you on time.
We disagree with other characterizations in your review. Firstly, we allow recruiters to configure the proctoring settings. If they want to disable some of the settings, they can. The invasiveness is your recruiter's choice, not ours. And, to be fair to them, candidates cheat a lot on assessments, especially now that there is AI. So, it makes sense that they enable Proctoring.
The site isn't extremely glitchy - your own recruiter has used us for 1000s of candidates, and there have been no issues. The glitch was almost certainly due to something at your end (your device, your browser, etc) and that is why Ray and Rachel gave you very specific instructions on what you must do at your end so we can diagnose the issue. You declined to do it. If you just share screenshots of the error, it is impossible to know what went wrong. We went to great pains explaining this. You retorted by calling the team uneducated, which is not a very nice thing to say.
We are still open to working with you on this. Our offer to help diagnose the issue, and reaching out to your recruiter on your behalf, is still open.
Best cost effective options for hiring needs
As a Senior Developer at Kotak Securities, I was responsible for shortlisting candidates, and my primary requirement was simple: can they solve medium-level coding problems without AI assistance? Before discovering equip.co, I spent countless hours interviewing candidates who weren't technically qualified, which was frustrating and inefficient.
Equip.co has transformed our hiring process. I now share custom test links with candidates, and the platform provides detailed test scores along with a reliable trust score that helps me quickly filter out unsuitable applicants. The time savings have been significant, and the quality of candidates reaching the interview stage has improved dramatically.
Recently, I learned that equip.co also offers resume shortlisting capabilities with an intuitive interface. I've recommended that our HR team use this feature for initial screening before sharing test links with relevant candidates. This streamlined approach has made our entire hiring workflow more efficient.
Rating: 9.5/10
What I'd Love to See: Integration with LeetCode would be fantastic, allowing us to import their diverse question bank directly into the platform for even more variety in our assessments.
Overall, I highly recommend equip.co to any technical team looking to optimize their hiring process and reduce time spent on unqualified candidates.
