Is this brand ready for skincare?
After only two uses, I developed a severe reaction across my face, ears and neck, with extremely swollen eyelids. I had to go to Urgent Care and was prescribed six days of systemic corticosteroids. I understand that allergic reactions to skincare can happen. That is not why I am leaving a negative review. What disappointed me was e.l.f.’s response. I repeatedly asked to speak with Product Safety or a medical/dermatology advisor. Instead, I received standard replies offering first a $17 refund and then $50 in free products — neither of which I had requested. My request for qualified guidance was never answered. If a makeup brand wants to move seriously into skincare, it needs not only the products and marketing, but also the expertise and processes to support consumers when something goes seriously wrong.
